@kreator: yes i ment index of refraction, which is an attribute which can be added to the material. It controls the amount of refraction a material will have. Glass has about 1.3-1.6. I posted a link a couple of posts back (^) which contains most of the common IOR values.

Found it! Thanks, kreator and floyd!  I've decided I'm going to start compiling common terms and abbreviations to make a sort of anim8or dictionary/glossary that would refer to what each term means and explain where each term/command/etc. can be found... Have been thinking about doing this for quite some time, and no time like now to get started.
