Basic dolphin shape..
« on: February 08, 2008, 02:34:45 am »

Hi,

While we were discuising some subdivision stuff in one of the threads, I played a bit with smooth and subdivided object and found it very (no, I mean very very) usefull. Since it's just a basic shape (not very detailed), I didn't put much effort making it.

:)  I'm glad you found it useful!  Remember though, it wont get you out of all your problems, and it's not always best to use, though I do use it most of the time.  Sometimes a normal mesh is fine.  Also, some people convert to a subdivision object to hide mistakes in the mesh.  Don't do that either, though  I don't think you will ;)

Now the best thing to do would be to study up on edge looping:

lastly,

That site is a forum on subdivision modeling and you can find VERY useful threads that will teach you a lot  :)
