You may want to consider extending your stay, Steve...

With the GIGANTIC fires in both northern and southern California, the air quality is miserable.  I moved from Boulder Creek (in the Santa Cruz Mountains) to Lincoln (just a bit north and east of Sacramento), and smoke from the Camp fire (over 6700 structures GONE!) made it difficult to even see things a quarter mile away!

Just a quick question, itsstillthinking...
Are you rendering out to individual frames and then combining them into a video using something like VirtualDub, or are you rendering to a video directly within Anim8or?  If the latter, virtually EVERYONE will tell you to NOT do that!  Using the first method also makes it easier to redo portions of an animation, or pick up from where the crash occurred.

I see what ya did there....!

It's not just the orientation of an object that would make "correcting" the pivot point, but the symmetry of the object!  For instance, a cube is a symmetrical object, and you could locate the center of the object based on the planes defined by the faces.  But the same can't be said for more complex, non-symmetrical objects.  It's anybody's guess where the "correct" pivot point should be.

Odd?  In what way?  If you mean that "This is the Anim8or Forum, and how dare anyone speak of anything else!", then no.  After all, a handyman has a whole set of tools at his disposal to do his job --- hammers, nails, screwdrivers, wrenches, saws, chisels, wood, metal, torches, wire, twine, glue, duct tape, etc.  He certainly doesn't need all of these tools for each and every task he must accomplish, but it helps to know what each tool is and how it can help him accomplish the task at hand.  And sometimes it's helpful to know if he can substitute one tool for another.

It's no different for 2D or 3D graphics composition.  I would venture that every professional graphics designer or animator does not rely solely on one program. 

And even more importantly, information exchange --- regardless of how relevant it may seem at the time --- helps spawn new ideas.

That is indeed a nice touch!  Looks like you've got her well rigged.  The tail feathers add a lot to her expression, too.

In fact, that movie in 2014 was the same idea, but because of problems with a backup I had to start all over again...

WHOA!  THAT was a LOT of work.  Gotta give you props, man --- that's dedication!

Michel --- Impressive as it is, isn't this the same movie you posted in 2014?


Not to be flippant, but...

I can't help but think of the old Henny Youngman routine, "Doc, it hurts when I do this."  The doctor says "Don't do that."

But seriously, why can't you "build up" a big mesh from many smaller meshes?  Seems less frustrating to me.
