Oh thank you very much. I didn't realize it was in Terranim8or. :D

General Anim8or Forum / Camera Shake?

Has there been any program or script been developed to apply camera shake for Anim8or? Not necessarily realistic handicam shake, I'm just looking for simple camera movements to keep it from moving in a linear or static fashion. I can manually do it but I am hoping that there is a more efficient/faster way to do it.  ;D

Congrats Ensoniq! Good job.

This was a fun challenge. Looking forward to the next one and hopefully doesn't coincide with projects for my majors.

If you read some more you'll find that some people explain that Anim8or is a one man project and that perhaps he's been very busy as of late, given that he has a job to worry about as well. I believe he's working on it, it's just we don't hear much from him and so it seems like he's forgotten about this place. Don't fret.

@Cori: Kubajzz will setup a poll I think so that the votes can get casted. We'll just have to wait for him.

@Ensoniq: Thanks. I didn't quite expect to get praised in terms of choreography to be honest.

@johnar: The motion blur is actually just a texture with alpha map on a second sphere. I'm glad you noticed it. :D

Thanks guys. I'm glad you like it.

@Lynn: Yes I agree. Textures were just whatever I had and lighting was just very quick add ins with not much thought. I just focused on animating something to fit with the challenge deadline. I am currently trying to get it to look better. I will upload the revamped version somewhere whenever I finish.

Very nice Johnar. I like the way the dominoes interacted with one another. And the sound effects were solid. XD

Finally finished mine. I hope it's not too late.

I have to admit I reused models for this one. I didn't have time to build / rig / and animate a new set. Rendered without shadows and with scanline to quicken the pace. Interestingly enough I couldn't put shadows with scanline render using .97 Ah well. Feedback is appreciated.

Woah! Regardless of the quality that is pretty amazing Ensoniq! Mine feels insignificant compared to that. (5 secs-ish) I'll try to get mine up as soon as I finish if I finish before tomorrow ends.

I'm just curious, is the deadline of this on a specific time? Or do we just consider the day of August 21 the last day and submit it any time within that day?

I have to admit, I've been bogged down by so much work from school that I barely had time to work on this. >< Oh well, still giving it a shot anyway. Almost done animating this short sequence.

That is amazing. Very nice model and textures!

Thanks for the comments guys  :)

@rellik: Yes, now that you mention it, it does seem a bit off. As for the cat though, I've been getting that comment a lot. Originally though he's not supposed to have hair and that should just be the markings on his head. Perhaps I should make it blend a little more some how rather than have solid lines?

@Indian8or: They're actually just layers of polygons with a diffuse and alpha texture  of grass. I just copied it and changed the angles a bit to show some depth and make it look like there's a lot more grass than just one picture. And yes I am planning to animate them. (Almost spelled that with an 8 in it XD )

Edit: I just remembered I made a walk cycle of the model I used for the Simple Machines challenge. This walk cycle was done for a presentation in my class called "Introduction to Animation". My group was to report on the silent era and animation toys. So I went ahead and built a Praxinoscope in Anim8or and used the walk cycle for the animation reflected in the mirrors. quite fun and I like how it turned out too. Although when I uploaded it to photobucket the video gets choppy for some reason. One of these days I'm getting a youtube/Vimeo account. ._.

Anyway here it is:

Hello guys, I've been meaning to show you guys what I have been able to make so far in anim8or. I love the darn program so much I find whatever reason to plug it into my school projects  :D

Here are some of my latest projects.

First one is the Sea Duck from the Disney Afternoon Cartoon "Talespin". This model is currently being remodelled and textured so that I may accommodate a seamless interior. The second and third is one of my characters which I modelled, rigged in Anim8or but textured in Sculptris. Too bad I can't get the normal maps to be as pretty in anim8or as it was in Sculptris. I might repaint the diffuse map to include the folds. The last image is the base image I'm using as a submission for my school's art publication. That is actually why I made a 3D model of my character.

Feedback and comments are appreciated.  ;D

Will post more soon.

Ok... I think I can join this one. I have enough time to think of something and actually do something. XD

Very interesting idea Kubajzz  ;D

Ok thanks. Just wondering. I was afraid I somehow damage the file or something during the transfer.

General Anim8or Forum / Ik shouldn't exist in .95 right?
« on: July 30, 2010, 07:33:53 am »
From time to time I use the computer lab at my school to work on some of my projects. I bring anim8or(normally .97) in a usb as well as the files I need. Today I accidentally brought ver .95

Now the Ik button in scene editor is always grayed out, right? Or should be at least?(It has always been grayed out for me ever since) Just a few minutes ago as I was working I noticed that it was clickable. And so I clicked it and it was doing some minor Ik stuff. The new position can't be keyed though but still. Is this supposed to be possible?

Some screens:

The project I'm working on:

The following two is that IK thing in action.

I tried doing some searches on the forums with the tags "IK" and "Inverse Kinetics to look for any similar threads but couldn't find any so I hope this isn't a repeat topic or if it's old news. Please tell me if it is. Thank you.

I can't try this on another computer yet since I'm not allowed to jump from one to the next so it could be just a fluke. However it remains even if I close and restart the program.
