Very cool. I would subdivide it, though.

I could use some smoothing yes... maybe bevel some edges ;)

@daniel i thought about that too but am not sure how to make the mini bubbles in alcohol.

little spheres ;)

The second render looks better imo. The IOR works better now.

Sorry about delayed answer, i was unable to write earlier.
I've tried ART Ray tracer renderer, AA parameters - 64 samples per pixel, Multy-jittered sampling method.

These options not work even on my desktop too. Anim8or stays at 25% cpu , constatnt memory size and freezes - esc key for cancelling render didnt work too.
Maybe i mismatched something, somewhere?

Anim8or freezes alot while rendering. This isn't always a problem. Just wait awhile and the render will finish and anim8or will 'unfreeze' ;). (doesn't always work btw :s)

Nice start. I think the material of the glasses could use some more work. The refraction they have is a bit to strong (normal IOR = 1,33 for glass, sometimes even lower).

looks nice! I like what you did with the textures/materials.

A classic weapon! I always loved that name, "Blunderbuss"!

It's origin is from the dutch word 'donderbus' (thunderpipe) ;)

Kinda looks like a watchtower... :p
Good start, I would like to see this textured ;)

What kind of AA settings are you render at? Because after half an hour you should see atleast something... :s

I think uvmapper is a pretty decent uvmapper.
and remember: even paint has a texture ;)

ASL Scripts / Re: ASL Scripts Database

I am very curious is someone could try to create a scrip that allows camera position&animation to be exported and imported. That would be freakin' usefull. At my work I also use AE for compositing, and sometimes would be helpfull to be able to export the camera animation and then import it to Ae.

If someone could do such a script, please let me know.
Thanks.

That would be a helpfull tool indeed. You will have to export the anim8or camera to a .fbx camera file. I don't know if thats possible since anim8or doesn't have an fbx exporter...

Looks really nice daniel. I'm not familiar with the series but I like the characters. You did an good job on the focal blur, it gives a nice focus. The background picture could use some work maybe. It still looks pretty flat. Maybe you could use multiple planes with textures and place them at different angles/position, this will give more depth to it.

Nice work on the details. Are you going to texture it, or leave it this way? I think with textures it would look awesome!
As for the lighting. Have you tried an Ambient Occlusion pass? Using a AO-pass as an overlay will make the shadows and edges come out better. You can read some thing about ambient occlusion in this topic.

Have you checked fog on? Go to view>preferences and check fog on for both opengl workspace and file output.

I wish Steve'd at least just upload the source if he's not going to work on it.

Unless something horrible happened. I really hope not.

There is nothing wrong with steve, he's just to busy to work on anim8or. He has nog stopped working on it ;)
