I messed around with it before but never really made a game.
17  General Category / General Anim8or Forum / Re: WEEHEEEE oh, oh wait its dead, I thought it was dancing (CRE8OR NOTICE) on: November 19, 2011, 10:09:03 pm
I remember using Cre8or. The only thing I've only managed to make on it was being able to flip a cube or sphere around on a base.

Decided to start creating buildings with indoors now it seems pretty difficult to do in Anim8or, is there any software to use to create these?

Alright. Now I have another problem. When I try to import the image, I get the message saying that it should be the same size as the other ones which is 400 by 300. So I make it that size but then it says that it has to be a square. So what do I have to do here?

Nice idea to try to simulate water!
You could take a look to this tutorial:

http://biederman.net/leslie/tutorials/Terranim8or/water_refraction/Animated_water.pdf

I tried it a (long) time ago and I think it is very good (you will maybe have to create a material to fit to what you want)
Actually I did look up this tutorial after I posted this. I was doing well until it started talking about this env map thing which I have no idea what it is. Is it some software I need?
21  General Category / General Anim8or Forum / How to make realistic water movement? on: June 05, 2011, 07:11:11 pm
Been awhile since I posted. I'm trying to make a realistic ocean. First I tried making a flat plate for the ocean, give it 20 by 20 divisions, gave it a tileable water texture, & gave it 2 morph targets for each section going side by side. The problem is that it doesn't look right. So if there's some other method on doing this or any tutorials out there then do tell.

Cre8or's forums aren't that active. I guess spambots are targeting it?

lol, it's like you guys don't want me to expand my knowledge of 3D animating software & stay on Anim8or. Well anyways I got a new laptop which is awesome. It's a lot better than my crappy commercialized PC that can't even run Portal without being all slow even when the graphics are on low. I just recently bought the Orange Box Cheesy Half Life 2 ftw!

Actually the latest version of Blender looks pretty good. It looks more simplistic. I also want to use Blender for it's own game engine. I've always wanted to learn how to make small games on my free time.

p.s. doing really good with my new videos on Youtube. Planning out more to come out like new series. But if you like the classics check my channel out!

What does Steve do exactly?

I work with both 3ds max and maya. There both great programs, but I must say that maya is a bit better if you want to make animations. 3ds max is great for modeling, but you have more control in maya.
So I should do Maya other than Blender? More simpler?

I wish Anim8or can use transparent images. You can take a cylinder and shape it, then have a twirl of wire texture to put around it.

I'm not going to quit Anim8or. It still is a helpful tool. Actually what my reasons are for switching is that a lot of software supports blender. But what about 3D Max and Maya? Are they easier?

I think thats something else with your computer.

Better to delete than to cut I think, because the cut command keeps everything on clipboard so that way it uses memory, I think Tongue And don't forget to selecte correctly depending on what you want to delete ( in any other situation ).
I don't think that would matter since it's just a very small file unless it effects the speed Anim8or is working.
