Finished Works and Works in Progress / Re: Gyperboloid's Lab

Since I wanted to create a copy of an existing place, I used Anim8or CAD measures with an accurasy of 1 cm ( 1 Anim8or unit = 1 cm in real world ). And it was pain to click every time almost every single edge to see its length, the position of the points e.t.c.

I have been trying that with some buildings I want to make in Cardboard for a 4mm scale loco layout . I have just selected the Grid to represent 4mm to a foot seems to work ok at the moment.

I create the building in top view then render at 3508 x 2480 that gives me a 300dpi  image on A4 paper which when measured is the correct dimensions for the scale. Eventually I will add instructions on how to build the Object in Acrobat along with the images

I would Opt for a Box to start Then Cut out anything that you want Doors, windows etc rather than making separate walls. The construction would be quicker

first off you have the panoramic set to -170 /170 it should be -180/180   as there are no objects I assume you are just testing the panoramic but it renders out for me everytime, Personally I used OpenGL as it lacks  models, figures or sequences. No ground plane either.

What version are u using V1.00? or an earlier beta as I did have problems with a heavily populated scene when rendering images in Beta 3, but found that if I removed all my ASL scripts and ASL icons it would render each time.

Anim8or v1.0 Discussion Forum / Re: Weighting tool suggestion
« on: June 17, 2017, 04:25:35 pm »
You seem to be having Fun!!...... its not easy to weight paint anything in Anim8or, but gives you a good grounding when you migrate to other programs ie: ( Carrara.... weight painting uses 3d brush and is semi automatic when you add a sketeton so there is minimal painting!!)
But here`s some little tips that I use:

1:find a bone that does not have any movement then paint the whole model with that colour, then start on each individual joint.

2: also try using wireframe mode when doing intricate stuff you can see what missed and what needs painting

3: uncheck your skeleton during your painting process to see where you have overpainted.

Hope this helps. did you get to see the video ??

Not bad, just watch your deformation on the penquins skin when animating them.

Claude: Nope it don`t work for me, each time I get a random splash screen. Did exactly as you suggested.

Chuft-Captain: Certainly not going down that way, much to long winded having to navigate through DOS to get to where I want to be.

Just a point who`s splashscreen is who, number wise?

For example type this on the command line:

anim8or.exe -splash 2

and it will display fromsoysauce's colorful scene.

Note: this only works for the v.10 release.

Sorry Steve,  now forgive if I am thick, (Its My Age, retirement fast approaching!!)but what command line?  Do you mean in the icon for anim8or, as I just click on that on the desktop.

If that is the right action, then I still get a random image appearing and not the specific one relating to 2.

in  fact i tried every number from 1 thru 7 and it still does a random pick. I have V1.00 and the dll in an Anim8or directory
