ok, I had a look at some referances (bought a small wall-e toy as well.) and realized that i had modeled the whole upper body wrong. so, som hours of irritation and building i ended up with this.. the reason it is a wireframe is because i am sending the same image to a friend and he wanted to see the wireframe

so far it's
6296 faces.

select the stretched wall in point edit, change view to left or right (so you are looking right at it) then click Uv, hold your mousbutton down inside the circle and move it just a TINY bit. That should fix the stretch

you would have to use, either a external UV program, or anim8ors built in UV tool. Click the big button saying UV, and try it out a bit. You'll figure it out in notime

well, it's quite a nice model, but reading your description I understand that you only did the render? well, you should definetly render with AntiAliasing on, it would take some time to render, but the results will be way better!

Have you actually used it?

I have, i don't like the new warnings for different things, and i really dislike the start menu. also there are lots of bugs in vista at the moment.. maybe i will buy it when a proper, bug-free version is released. But until then, XP is more than enough for me.

anyway, another update, made the arms. They are not properly attached yet, but i will get to that.

Wow you've got some REALLY high poly models what is your RAM and video driver (if you don't mind me asking)

quite low actually, but i am building a new computer now with 2gig's of ram, haven't bought the graphics card yet.

the one i am using now is an old dell laptop
Itel(R) Celeron(R) M
proceessor     1.30GHz
130.GHz, 504 MB of RAM

Well let me give you a tip: don't install vista.
Don't get me wrong I love vista and don't know how i lived without it but it takes 1.5GB of RAM just to run idle.

hehe, There is no way i would install vista, i don't like it at all.

probably going to be for a still, I am going to add rounder edges, remember, this is still a wip, but I think I'll wait untill the model is finished to avoid lag while working.. as i already said, this computer isn't too good...

I like the green one a lot :) the pink one should be more "baby" pink, if you get what I'm saying.
this one is in a too strong color

I think that any color would work.. but it would have to have a low "tone"
here are some examples:

once again an update, this is really starting to take shape now :)

don't know if it is noticable, but i changed the angle of the neck a bit, and beveled most edges on the "face" and neck

So.. yeah.. long time since I updated.

I have just started a new WIP. i am going to create a quite detailed version of Wall-E from the new hit movie by pixar, Wall-e.

I really like your model, but what i don't like is the texture, it ruins the simplistic look. i would suggest making him single-colored. and make the texture sort of like rubber, like a clayrender.

i think pink and light-green would look good. :)

anyway.. Really nice model!

General Anim8or Forum / Re: What kind of Anim8or are you?
« on: October 07, 2008, 04:51:22 pm »
I like to model high-detail realistic objects, but sometimes take a break and maybe make some cell-shading or something :)

That is why i really like that the anim8or renderer is becoming more and more realistic
