Yeah, thanks, guys. :) I haven't shown anything halfway good on here ever. But on other sites you may see some awesome work by me. (So says some forum members) I also pay attention to accuracy and poly count. But I don't really have much to show here at this moment. Most of my stuff is a Work In Progress. But I think that my stuff would sell. And a lot of other people do too. But thanks, guys for the comments! I'm in the process of "researching" selling on turbosquid. But thanks!

Hey, everyone. :) I know this may sound funny, but I want to know a few things about turbosquid.com.

First off, has anyone here sold anything on there before? I'm wanting to make a little money so I can get what (I) want. :P Mostly, because all I ever get is an occasional surprise from my parents, and some money every now and then. But mostly all I'm entitled to is breakfast, lunch, dinner. :P Just kidding, obviously, but that's almost how it is. ;)

Anyway, to the point, I think I have good enough models to sell. And I was wondering, how much do they charge you to sell? I've heard that they deduct 50% on every sale. Is this true?
And also, are anim8or's exporting capabilities good enough to fit someone with 3ds Max, Maya, Lightwave, or whatever? I guess I mean the way it's UVmapped, or just a planar texture? I've exported to 3ds and obj and opened them in Blender and Gmax and they look fine, but what about commercial programs? Just wondering, thanks for any responses!

I'd really appreciate it, guys if you could shed some light on this little matter. :)

Yeah, that guy was just asking for trouble! :x

Honestly, who would do a thing like that!? I could go on ranting about this all day but I have to start a site to sell Anim8or on. :P JUST JOKING.

Anyway, he shouldn't have done that! I do hope that's the last wee see of him.

@headwax: I've seen that Joan of Ark tut before. Everyone says it's special. Is it possible in Anim8or?

Anyways, I'll take a look through the looking-- reference pages... *sigh*

Hmm.... Interesting... I'll have a go at this. I'll look at the reference sites tomorrow. Got to go right now.

But does anyone have a good site for tutorials on the "anatomy" of people? I have a lot of trouble modeling realistic characters. Any help?
Thanks!

General Anim8or Forum / Anim8or on Linux Ubuntu?
« on: June 04, 2009, 05:55:54 am »
Hello again! :D

I have a friend on another forum who is using Linux Ubuntu, and I told him about Anim8or. He wanted to try it, but he can't run it on his OS. Is there a way to run Anim8or on Linux/Ubuntu or whatever that thing is?

Lots of appreciation if someone knows how!
Thanks, guys.

VirtualDub? It works pretty good. It'll let you export the individual frames and you can edit them in something like MS Paint, Photo Shop, Photo Filtre, GIMP or anything you feel comfortable with. I dk if this is what you really want, but I figured I'd suggest it.

Do you have autosave enabled? Maybe it's still in there. I hate for you to lose all that stuff...

You sure you can't get them back? Maybe post up the an8 file and see if any of us can fix it? I wouldn't hesitate to try. I hate to see that marvelous work gone...

I got a PM, not an email, though. Unless you meant to say PM.

I replied to the PM

As far as I know,

1. Subdivide the model, (make sure it is a "subdivision" not a mesh that has been subdivided and converted to mesh after that. more info in manual.)

Press CTRL-F or CTRL-W to get to wire frame modes.

2. Get the "edge" tool. Draw select the points (not edges, it doesn't always come out properly) that connect to the edges that you want squared again.

3. While they are selected, click the menu Edit>>Edge Properties, then click "rounded" and in "level" type 1, 2, or 3 depending on how squared/flat you want them (3 is flattest, 1 is kind of flat, 2 is medium)

I hope this helps!

Did you get your space ship stuff back?
That's happened to me, I think, once.
