Well I was going to do that, thanks for posting and stating your opinion, in case you havent noticed (if you havent, then look HARDER!?!?!?!), it isnt complete (not just textures I'm talking about). I might take a few models I made over the month or so, and combine them to make a scene, possibly using this model, but I would want to create to versions. One, normal, two crashed version (the plane would look as if it crashed).

LOL, Thats funny how you put "not but has been a while since i have" in. Good head though, somthing does seem a bit off, cant tell what it is right at this moment.

Well I was thinking of using this model in a video competition I'm in right now, that and after I was going to make a test video of this exploding (since explosions are easy to make in anim8or, and the planet was easy, why not mix the two).

Both pictures are completely rendered in anim8or, the only programs I used was Fireworks for making and editing textures and of course, anim8or. In other words no other program was used after anim8or.

Oh, I get what you mean now, yeah I was having some touble tweaking out the clouds, you see, when I set it 0 ambeint the clouds would turn pure black, if it was at 0.5 it would be a solid grey.
But I think If I cast a shadow on it's self in raytracer it might fix this issue.

Thanks guys  :D,
$imon, about the light from the cities, that is there in the first image, it just blends in with the clouds though.
I wanna soon animate some planets with stars if it keeps turning out this easy (I thought it would be harder), but as long as you have a good texture with bump maps and everything it looks pretty good.

P.S. I love the documentary Planet Earth, it was their renderings of earth that made me try it for my self

I edited and made a few high res textures, then layered them on a sphere.
I was mostly screwing around seeing what would come ot and here it is.

Comment please ( :

Render time around 30 sec,
time spent around 3 hours, tweaking out stuff and editing textures.
