General Anim8or Forum / Character Modeling Tutes
« on: November 05, 2013, 03:57:14 pm »
Hi All

I have been involved in my music but have been stopping by to see all the great work.  The challenge stuff is absolutely mind blowing.

With that, I want to get back into it.  I want to create some rigged characters and make an animated short.  I will read the manual, but if you know of any tutes for funny rigged characters, lemme know!

General Anim8or Forum / Camera path/Show path...points editable?
« on: January 31, 2013, 09:42:28 pm »

I am trying to do an animation of object spinning in front of one camera.  My first thought was to have the object spin itself in front of the camera and keep the camera stationary.  That didn't work out to well as my object did not want to "spin on a dime"  So I made a 4 second animation and moved the camera to the 4 points.  I thought after I did that, I could curve the path and make it circular.  Thats not working to well either. Are the points editable somehow?  I am open to any suggestions you might have.

As always....Thanks!

General Anim8or Forum / Using a 2D pic in Anim8or for model
« on: January 30, 2013, 09:49:26 pm »

I have seen an example but I forgot where!  I want to bring a 2D pic (2 actually front view and side view) of my 2D character and I want to model him in anim8or.  Does anybody know where that tute is/was?

General Anim8or Forum / I am all over the place
« on: January 29, 2013, 05:32:58 pm »
Hi gang!

Every time I think I have found all the free 3D programs, I found another that makes my head spin.  Since my last post I have dabbled in the new Blender, Gamespace, Truespace and I am going to give povray a whirl!

All I am do is trying to make some mid-poly cartoon characters with bones.  kreator pointed me to one of his videos but, no offense, I think the model is too complicated as far as having too many bones.

There was a posable guy who came with a walk and a startled pose. I tried to take a frame and get it to move. I got to the point where the bone got posed to a new place, but the depicted leg stayed behind. Do you have any idea what I'm doing wrong?

General Anim8or Forum / Modifier Woes
« on: December 12, 2012, 07:44:01 pm »
Hi All

Why is it that when I save my project with a modifier, in this case a bend, I can't open it correctly?   The modifier is off to one side and the thing to be modified is there unmodified?

General Anim8or Forum / Need an Anim8or book
« on: November 16, 2012, 06:54:33 pm »
Hi All

I was wondering if I could twist someones arm (ENSONIQ5, Kreator...all the other greats) to write an Anim8or book.  Youtube and the dead tute links aren't helping me.   Need something to have and to hold and to reference and to swat a bug with.

I have a Barnes and Noble giftcard burning a hole in my pocket! LOL   ;D

General Anim8or Forum / Shadows
« on: September 17, 2012, 07:34:51 pm »
Hi All

I've searched the forum and tried different things and came up empty handed.  How can I make my shadows lighter?  I have tried the Advanced properties and change the percentage.  I have even changed the color of the light and the shadows won't tone down.  Any suggestions?

General Anim8or Forum / Hey Noobies! Welcome!
« on: September 17, 2012, 03:54:17 pm »
Just a shout out to any new folks who might have found this site and amazing program!  You've come to the right place if you are new to computer 3D modelling and/or animating and looking for a program to get you started.  First, let me say that this wonder program is free!  No money!  Its yours to make stuff!  Tap into that inner artist that screams to be released!   :D

What Anim8or will do for you:

* Give you a taste of the 3D modelling and anim8ing

* Give you an appreciation of what is involved in 3D modelling and anim8ing

* Give you a complete healthy rush when you render your first model and/or anim8ion

* Will help you determine in a relatively short time if 3D modelling and anim8ing is for you

* Make you $  (I took first place in a contest and won cash shortly after grasping key Anim8or concepts; not kidding!)

What Anim8or won't do for you:

*  Make a Pixar type movie.  Even if you had Maya or 3ds, you could not do that alone, so please keep that in mind!  :)

*  Your chores

I have it running on Win XP SP 3, Vista and Win 7 and its fun!

If you have any questions ask!  Despite what anyone says, there is a new breed of Anim8ors here that are willing to help!
