Hi all,

The forum has been a bit lax lately, not much activity here.  I know there are many reasons for these slack phases like anim8ors being busy in their respective domains, etc., but i feel the challenges should speed up a bit.  The voting process unnecessarily takes a long period of time.  So, I feel, to keep everybodies interest alive, the challenges should run back to back and the next challenge should start irrespective of the voting process of the previous challenge.

I also have a suggestion that still and animation challenges should run simultaneously to enthuse more anim8ors and newer facets such as matte painting and fantasy art should also be included.

This is just my opinion and I hope I am not overlooing anything.

Back after a long gap.  Unfortunately, I had to go out of town and had an opportunity to check this forum only once.

I had completed my walk cycle, but could not post it.

I am happy the challenge has fewer, but good entries.

Since the challenge is over, I thought I would post my entry here.

General Anim8or Forum / Ideal desktop (PC) configuration for 3D

Hello animators. ;D

I am planning to get a new PC exclusively for 3D stuff.  So, I request you guys (and gals of course  ;)  ) to post your suggestions about the ideal/optimum configuration, must haves, can do withouts, better ifs, etc.

I just want everybodies suggestions.  I know it really helps a lot.

I really do not know if this question has already been asked and answered before in this forum. ::)

Here is a sort of tribute to the KING OF POP Michael Jackson.

I felt sad when I first heard the news of his demise.

Irrespective of all the controversies, MJ will always remain in people's hearts.

He truly realized the dream of ONE WORLD as his music crossed all the boundaries of caste, nationalities, race, religions, and geographies in his realm of music.

I felt desperate to pay my tribute to this great soul and what else an anim8or can do, but to express his feelings through his art.

Here is my couple of hours of efforts.

Had few hours to spare.  So, worked on this.  I know, I am not a member of animanon, but I thought I should work on my own concept, just for fun.

I am 100% sure Kreator won't mind it.  Hey buddy?

This is a sort of attack helicopter equivalent of steampunk machine. 

I call it "HYDRO RAIDER".

Just an experimental prototype.  Hope to fly it soon.  It is getting fuelled with water and coal at the base.



So, whose side are you on!!!!  HA HA.

This is a crab robot.  This is a concept armoured machine.

Finished Works and Works in Progress / Project explosion comp??

Hi everybody.

Past few days have been really dull in this forum.  I guess everyone is just conjuring his or her creative prowess before starting on a new project.

For the past few days, after working with fire, I have been trying to play around with realistic "explosion" effect with anim8or/terranim8or and I had an idea i.e. why not have a kind of competition wherein anyone who is interested can contribute through their creative skills. 

I do not know if I have the authority to call for a competition in this forum, but my intention is to just let everybody try and see how far we can stretch "anim8or" and/or rather our own imagination.

The contributions can be any (realistic) explosion effect of may be 4 seconds to 15 seconds in duration and let us see what best we can juice out of anim8or.  I hope it will benefit everyone.

Of course, if steve can grant a permission to have such a comp.

General Anim8or Forum / need help/unwrapping and texturing

Hi guys,

Can anybody help me in finding right tutorials for learning unwrapping and texturing models in anim8or.

So far, I have made many models in anim8or, but when it comes to texturing I think I have miles to go.

How to unwrap and texture a character precisely?.  Like i have made a pigeon, but now how to apply different textures to its different parts?

Hi

Please excuse me if this is a foolish question.

Today I started using version 0.97d.  However, when I clicked on material editor, I could see the "attributes" button, but when I clicked on it the list was blank.  Nothing was there.  Am I making a mistake in something?  Did I forget to follow any step?

Please give suggestions.

Hi,

I am a new member to this forum.  I just made my first walk cycle with a human figure.  However, when i tried to enable skinning and changed to Sequence mode, the anim8or crashed.

Please suggest remedies.
