A higher quality model than I've ever made before, besides the head, which came from another model I made, the entire thing was made from scratch.

Since I'm moving on to unity I figured it was about time to try going for a more detailed standard, something more to go with modern games. This was also my first time making ears, toes and finger nails. And the head to body ratio is much more closely rooted in real life proportions than any of my other models.

I'm going to be working on modeling a bunch of monsters. I've moved on to learning how to animate in Maya, but I just feel like Anim8or is funner to use to make 3D models.

So guys, I found a neat website that allows anybody to freely sign up to sell anything digital, that includes 3D models. And so, I think I want to try my hand at making a series of models that go on that site for sale. I'm thinking that I want to sell models that progressively get more detailed in polycount starting with the bar set at <500.

This took me maybe 2.5 hours to make. I think it came out pretty well formed considering that low number of polygons. What do you think?

This was for two purposes:
1) Practice soft bodies.
2) I want to set up shop on shapeways, Ponies seem like a good place to start.

I'm aware her proportions are wrong. Differences in the style are intentional.

This is a technique I've been working at for years, because the two ideas just have seemed so incomparable. Normally when I make eyes on my characters, I do it as a really flat set of faces that's textured with the details of an eye, though details like the eye lid do wind up being modeled apart from the eye, the limitation for me has always been that it's not a convenient set up for making animations where the characters eyes move.

But after about 14 failed attempts over 4 years, I finally came up with a technique, that I am satisfied with.

Recently, I've been trying to make my personal art style a strong medium between American and Japanese animation. How successful I am with that is questionable. But I'd like to know if what you think about my new found eye technique, and if you think there's anything off, let me know.

General Anim8or Forum / Converting *.an8 to something for Unity

I've decided that I want to learn how to use Unity to make video games. I wanted to know if there was a Script or some way of conversion that I could use to turn the animated anim8or files into something that can be loaded onto a Unity game.

My fist try at making a head that actually has ball shaped eyes and eye sockets. Hair is just a pace holder:

I find it a lot easier to manipulate 2D images in anim8or than any other program, funny how that works. These are to be printed out and used for a stop motion.

I've always thought that Deltafoot is almost Just as much of a staple to Difference as Aaron or Siiya. That said, when I updated the model, the changes were small. The Model has more polygons for one, this time his appendages actually connect to the geometry of his body. There's his arms and theighs actually have some muscular shape to them. There is now a forth segment to his legs where his foot touches the ground. Jaw-armor is gone, but now his mouth can open and close. His claws are now yellow and appear to be of good for digging.

I'm working on an alt costume for Siiya in shorts. The technical reason is so I can make all of her animations without having to move animate her skirt. I'll go back in the end and put the skirt back in. But in the mean hey, now she has 2 costumes for the game! Win Win!

Progress is going well with this game, all 12 main characters, hero's and villains are DONE! The thing about this game is that it will use 0 textures (except for explosions and lasers), and I'm trying out things to make it look as nice as possible with such minimalistic limitations. I changed the 1 directional light into 3 different lights of different colors. Also some weapons will give off light for dramatic effect!
