hey i just started rendering my own videos and i was wondering if anyone could suggest a free software to add sound to my videos.
any help would be appreciated Smiley

um... i'm a newb and this is just a suggestion.go to the built in sound recording software for windows,open your vid. hit play on anim8or and record on the software (wich brings me to another suggestion that you make a 2 second standstill at the beginning of the animation wich gives you enough time to hit record on the recording software) and make all the noises you have to in the movie.tell me if it helped

well i dont need the sounds themselves i need a way to get them into the AVI file

You need an Editing software. I would suggest Wax: http://www.debugmode.com/wax/
It is quite powerfull as for freeware class (well they use hell of a software in holywood Roll Eyes ).

All you need to do is just import your vid into a video track and then import an audio track (or more)..

Oh, and VirtualDub is veeerrry usefull and powerful for video/audio compressing (well it has bit more features), but I doubt you can add audio with this tool..

windows movie maker
its simple, free but very effective for being free
its not as good as sony vegas or after effects but those cost $200+
