try to make the speed of the movement consistent with the stride. he loks a little like he's sliding right now.

other than that, it looks good.

Don't have him walk so far in the same amount of time.  Basically make his walk distance shorter, or, make him walk the same distance in a greater amount of time.

to be honest the figure you made actually does have some resemblance, for example the very rigid stance and similar style the legs appear. And i know yours is wood but the colours are similar as well, if you see where we were coming from.
