I think it would be helpful to have a Cut-away view tool in object mode.  it would be helpful in making models that might have nostrils or eye sockets as it would make it easier to make the round edges from the inside.

(I am semi-new, so I haven't learned everything about Anim8or yet.  If this already exists, please let me know.)

I have more to add involving weight skinning.
#1: A brush setting that lets you paint only one spot and NOT mirror to the other side
#2: More colors for the bones, it gets confusing when every fourth one is the same color

It's better not to do anything, than to do nothing

About this cut-away view tool, it helps to use wireframe view and disabling front selecting. About the not mirror paint, I'll agree, bout about the more colors I don't know. Maybe if it is not difficult. But just we must not forget that A L L  T H E S E was done ( and still continue to be done ) by one person. And even the most simple and minor addition requires a lot of new code and in most cases even modifications to the already existing. I think the M_O_S_T important is to speed up ART renderer. Untill now everybody was modelling with some tricks and stuff, but the only thing that you can't "trick" is the render time Cry. So I think first of all the most important request must be the speed of the renderer ( ART particularly ), even if no other addition whould be added. So, if Steve could do that, then if it's not too difficult, he can add some other stuff ( mirror bone command in figure mode whould be very usefull ). Wink

One other thing I just discovered would be helpful: Allowing using Morph Targets in Sequence mode.  Some of my models would be easier if their morphs could be in sequence.  Take my Ship for example, the flapping sails, the flag, and even the waves, the keys are just copied and pasted in scene mode and would be easier if they could be made into a sequence.

Couldn't ever use Blender or Maya. Anim8or's good.

@Gyperboloid: Very true on everything you said. I think Anim8or is actually be falling behind in the competition it *used to be* comparable with, such as Blender. Maybe Steve's adding in a ton of new features or is actually COMPLETING his final work on Anim8or and release it once it's complete. Probably not though.

@Max: You're actually colorblind? It would be a good idea to add in selectively-disabled commands

@CoriDavis: Seems somewhat unessecary, if you ask me. Although it would be a nice touch, I think morphs are more practical if they're out of the way when you're doing skinning and stuff.

I concur with Gyperboloid: Speed up the ART Ray tracer render.

One other thing, I heard something about Terranim8or having particles and such and about Physics in other things. Steve made those, right? I'm wondering if he could add those features to Anim8or by just copying the script and editing it to fit.  I do that a lot with the things I make, it seems pretty easy to do

This is hopefully an easy request. Have the right-click select tool able to deselect as well.  I couldn't say how many times I've been right-click selecting and accidentally select an edge/point I didn't want selected.  If I could just click again to deselect what I didn't want, then I wouldn't have to unselect everything and start all over.  Just like how you use Ctrl to select multiple files, but you can just click again to unselect something you don't want.

Cori ---
While you can select multiple things by right-clicking, you can deselect by using Alt-right-click.

Another thing I realized would be helpful: "Key Selected Elements" in scene editor, like how there's the "Key Selected/All Bones" in Sequence editor.
This would be helpful because I find myself going through and keying a whole list of objects and it takes sooo much valuable time.
Double-click, Key, Scroll... Double-click, Key, Scroll... it's exhausting.

Also, maybe make the New Bones in figure editor be automatically the same diameter as the parent bone.  That way if you change the bone diameter in say a hand and you're trying to make fingers, you don't have to keep resizing it manually
