A scene somewhat inspired from a dream I had. It's not EXACTLY what it looked like since the beach was much bigger and the water stretched out much further and it looked a lot more open. Anyway, I made and rendered this completely in Anim8or and used tons of UV textures, transmaps, and bumpmaps. it took me a few days to make the whole thing, who knows how many hours of those days I was working on it.

Does this look familiar to anyone? Maybe I'm psychic and this is an actual place somewhere. Who knows!

This is Vietnam.  I think there is a resemblance.  The mountain structures are similar to those in your render, and there are beaches in that area of Vietnam.

That does look similar, not entirely like my dream, but if there was a big opening in the mountain valley with sand and a beach, that would be it

Well, it is kind of difficult to find pictures that perfectly replicate mentally fabricated images.  If you look around the world long enough you might find a place that is very similar.  Like I said; that area does have beaches, I just do not have a picture of them.  This is what Google is for.   Wink

Here are some pictures I found of Ha Long Bay in Vietnam. It seems to be similar…

Good work on the render too, by the way. Smiley

CoriDavis, did you happen to see Leonardo Dicaprio's The Beach recently?  Because the film had strikingly similar beach location.

Whether it is your dream or not, I'd say it is a wonderful landscape for a fantasy.  For a while I was going to use Ha Long Bay as the setting for a dragon animation that I'm working on, until I settled on the Dolomite mountains in Italy instead.

Indian8or, that is very close! the only difference was that the water wasn't that blue, it was a teeny bit more sand colored. Ever been to Michigan? the water there is more what I'm talking about. Very clear, but not blue.

But yeah, I do agree about using it. question is, what to use it for?
