Select one edge, then grab all of them
« on: July 26, 2014, 01:55:57 am »

Learning as I go...I"m trying to select top face of something, that at has no face :)

Is there a command to select one edge and then issue command to grab all of them on the same line ? I've having trouble atm is all, trying to catch them all without moving my mesh around and then try to reposition it with my ref. images :) ( or am I missing something obvious)

For me, selecting edges and faces is the most challenging thing about modeling in Anim8or. Quad Loop Select (keyboard shortcut q) might select the edges you want, but only works when faces are present. (You can add faces to the entire mesh by selecting all edges and pressing shift+J, but you will probably have to make corrections.) It is probably easier to select the edges individually or use drag select.

About moving your mesh around for selecting faces, points, and edges, be sure to load your reference image while in either front, back, left, right, top, or bottom view. Use Arc-Rotate to move your point of view while working on your model. When you return to your original view, your model is still properly aligned with your reference image. If you do accidentally rotate your model, go to the Edit menu and click "Rotate None" to reorient it.
