The new Fire Effect plug-in for Terranim8or 7 alpha is ready for download from:
http://www.biederman.net/leslie/terranim8or/alphatesting.htm#download

The current version of Terranim8or does not support the settings required to see the fire in the workspace (actually, you won't see anything!). The fire particles can be seen only in wire view. Never mind, save the file, then open it and render the fire animation in Anim8or! Customization: change the fire particle size in Anim8or, change the emissive color,

OH YEAH!!! I hacked Terranim8or's fire plugin!!

Here's a tut to create a perfect-looking particle trail:
1. Create a normal particle trail with your own specs, can be done with 6.6.1 or 7Aplha. Doesn't matter if you make the particles face camera or make them face nothing, but certainly not anything else!!

2. Go in anim8or to the object that is the particle. Usually defined as "Tan8dummy".

3. Make a plane cube, create a new texture, and take as transmap the Tan8fire, which is delivered with the fire plugin.(ofcourse set it to "darken".) Now set Diffuse, Ambient and Specular to 0, and Emissive to 10, and trans to 0.01 . apply it to the plane cube.

4. you are done! go to scene, render your avi or jpg, and watch a perfect particle trail! the same softness as the fire plugin particles!

Hey, that's reverse engineering!
Actually, I did the same experiment and that gave me the ideea to make the fire- and explosion plug-in with the new look!
(The explosion plug-in is not yet finished)

Wow, I'm speechless, that's the best fire effects in Anim8or ever. An amazing piece of work, once again thanks for everything Leslie!

Also, Leslie:
could you make the starry background object plane, and facing the camera? i think it reduces the polys a lot.
