I know that you  can do that but it sux to use i want something that will work on the points at a much greater distance.

Simply move the point together or typ in a greater value in the merge point window: default is 0.500, make it 2 or something (depending on the distance of the points). But it's better to move the points closers together and then merge points, especially when working with more points.
