Really a nice character, Modeler, I do agree with Headwax that the shoes could have smaller points, but that could be fine if you want to give it a funny look.

Hey thanks for pointing out that tutorial headwax, just had a look and seems very very good, I needed something like this, I owe you a drink!

headwax:
No problem. :)

Let's see I'll have a single malt scotch on the rocks with a ..... :)

It's a great tut. If you go through it carefully in the end you can model anything.

I've done it several times. The hardest thing is joining the ears to the head. But it's worth persevering.

When joining bits and pieces together, remember the bridge tool. It's very useful.

cheers

Modeler_in_the_Myst:
Thank you all. I do use the bridge tool a lot, though I am finding using wire modeling with the fill tool creates a neater result. This tutorial looks daunting as yet, but doable if I keep practicing, so thank you Headwax.
And thanks Lynn22, those anim8or specific tutorials will definitely come in handy asI attempt to animate this figure, which I have made some changes to based on you peoples suggestions.

onespirit5777:
You have the makings of something cool - keep it up!

Modeler_in_the_Myst:
Well, thank your all for your kind support. Thanks to your assistance, I have finally wrapped my head around making skeletons. Though it will be a while before we can see the model above in any kind of animation, I have broken the conseptual barrier, and am starting to understand the tools. Painting weights is proving difficult to master, as expected, but I am confident I will do better with practice. I am working on animating a less ambitious figure, and learn from there. Thanks again, and hope to be more active in this very friendly community.
