Beast

<< < (4/4)

DoctorStopMo:
Before I finish up the torso segment, I had to decide how big the rider was going to be in relation to the beast and where his legs would fit.  I tossed in a generic red body with a basic bone structure for posing to see if it would work out.  I dunno if the rider should be any larger than what I have depicted here.  Any thoughts?

lizeal93: Thanks.  The animation is still really, really rough, and I haven't finalized the bone structure or the skinning, let alone the motion.  In due course :).

DoctorStopMo:
Finished with the main part of the body.  Need to finalize the addition of the front hand to the arm, and then go back to the head and add some teeth.

Also rendered a couple with the stand-in rider model:

C&C always welcome :).

hihosilver:
Wonderful job so far.  My main criticism right now is that the hind quarter appears to be attached somewhat weakly.  I would expect something more like an animals leg where the upper thigh merges largely into the body, and forms a large mass of muscle.  It appears here though that it's attached in a much smaller area and appears less sturdy.  This is also a bit the same with the legs in the front, but not as imminent.

Keep it up!

lizeal93:
the character seems in good proportion and the model looks great. the problem that hihosilver mentions is probably from the camera angle. or it might just need some bulking up back there. amazing progress! keep it up.

DoctorStopMo:
Latest, with chains:

I found an early version of the skull model I had and of one of the warriors.  Spent some time reconstructing those.  Decided that this is what the rider will be (for now, until I can redesign the original concept):

Thoughts and crits always welcome
