panoramic-renders

karate5662:
I tried expirmenting with stitching together a series of anim8or renders to create a panorama effect.

I made a basic scene in anim8or and created a series of keyframes to get images spaced evenly around the room. then I stitched then together in photoshop.

my first attemp didn't do so well. Because 3D renders have no lense distortion, I had straight lines that would bend at the edge of images.

I tried again, artificially adding a fisheye lense effect before stitching the images.

this time it actually looked like a panoramic picture. there's corners in all hte right places, and none where there shouldn't be.

right now I'm working on a more complex scene with materials. I'll try to make a panorama viewer with flash to show it off with.

headwax:
great  idea  karate thanks for sharing that!

karate5662:
here's the viewer. Since it's in flash, I can add clickable doorways and such to navigate the scene:

That's pretty cool!  I like how you stitched it together.  I believe another way to possibly do it could be creating four cameras creating something of a box, or all centralized around a single point.
I like the flash viewer!  Well done with that.

Suppastar:
Wow! That Flash was neat, the way it moved and the dark colors it's felt very un-nerving. I think you should make a whole bunch of those types of renders going around an old house and make a horror point-and-click.
