Arik the word does means nothing to me, the image started as some concept art for another project I'm working on (which unfortunately has nothing to do with animation).

Well, let's see... I was working on a vaguely similar type of scene some time ago, on the backburner like many others... R'Lyeh is a sunken city of fantastical, outlandish, alien nature somewhere in the Pacific Ocean, per early 1900s sci-fi and horror author H.P. Lovecraft.
So, I had to ask. The odd symbols and things could be attributed to the Lovecraft storylines.
3Dgeek11:
Isn't the challenge supposed to be done today?
Navek:
Ahh, I have heard of Lovecraft, not a lot mind you but the name rings a bell. The symbols are being used in the other project I mentioned and originated from an idle mind during a french class and ended up all over my worksheet. As for the image as a whole, its been bouncing around my mind for awhile now and i needed a way to represent it visually (anim8or is really a lifesaver for these things) rather then with words.

The voting was supposed to start yesterday, just a reminder.

Sorry people it toke me so long to start the voting. I was out of reach of any internet the last three days, that's why....
Here is my entry.
It's a remake of one of andre kutscherauer works: Self illumination II. I already remade Self illumination I once (original[.url], [url=http://cg-nation.com/files/artwork/Selfillumination013.jpg]my remake.
I added three images:
* First: The light setup
* Second: The render for the challenge (used photoshop to combine the AO and the render and I added a DOF blur with a depthmap.
* Final: This is the photoshopped version: Do not vote on this one!!
