Setting the limits for the allowed motion (angles) in the bone dialog box could be made a little more intuitive by color coding the X, Y and Z lines in the dialog box to match the color scheme used for the axes displayed on the joint itself (Red Green Blue).

If yopu prefer suggestions to go elsewhere - please let me know.
