Shadow problem

(1/2) > >>

falloffalot:
Between texturing the scene I have been messing about with lights and trying to cast shadows to give a dusky type feel.
See the pic below, how do I cast shadows along the floor made by the crates and control panel?

I have managed shadows before but don't seem to be able to manage it on this one.  ???
Thanks

Kubajzz:
There are several important things you have to do:

1. Make sure the "cast shadows" and/or "receive shadows" checkboxes are checked for the elements that should cast/receive shadows

2. Make sure the light is set up correctly. I don't recommend using volume shadows, they always cause render problems... More about light properties: http://www.anim8or.com/manual/7_scene_editor.html#shadow_properties_of_light

3. Click View>Preferences and make sure "shadows" checkbox is checked in the "file output" section...

I hope it helps... Nice scene by the way!

Thanks for the help but,
It still won't cast any shadows on the floor or walls.
I have even tried just a simple box and still no shadow.
The annoying thing is, I know it works but just can't do it this time.

Kubajzz:
Ok... could you post the an8 file? or send it to my e-mail? (unless it is 3MB...) There has to be a way to solve this...

Tanzim:
do you have a light source within the room?
i no that's stupid to ask but a lot of people have that problem
