Dosser:
aka, the holy Hand Grenade.

Based on a sphere, with the bands extruded. The gems are mostly made by insetting a larger face, then pointing the small face.

Hahah monty python, nice model. Just a tip, try to use the new ART render to make the orb look like real gold. Or just a nice envirenment map.

That's pretty.
Maybe try subdividing faces to take the 'corners' out of the ball and crown. It could be a bit fiddly since you will want to keep the jewels pointed.
