can't figure out how I DID THIS ;)

Simple sphere, subdivided,
chose two face, and extruded,

I then did bridging to remove gap, and started messing around,  being rather new to anim8tor.

I created a 'wing' like shape,  pointy at tip by scaling in ( I think).

Im not sure HOW I did this next trick, but I was able to  ( imagine you are viewing in top view!) take that extruded piece ( wing, as if wing on a plane) and 'rotate' it so that it was a actual curved wing shape, as on a plane, instead of sticking straight out .

I"ve tried everything and I can't figure out how I did it, can anyone figure this one out ? ;))

TH anyone! ;))

cheers

I think I get an idea of what you did, but posting pics would help for sure! You didn't use the actual Rotate tool? (I thiiiiink it's "r")

Here is the picture,,

see the yellow part, which would be  a planes wing. I somehow managed, to  scale/move/rotate ( don't recall..UGH ;) .)  that section , and instead of it being straight..it was curved to the right, as a wing would be on that side.

Embarrassing I can't remember,,but I was experimenting at the time, and I'm not well versed in amim8tor yet to know how to do complex things ? ;))

I tried rotating, moving, scaling and all other tools in the toolbar ( left side and top), but nothing is   getting it where it needs to go ;)

I tried rotate tool, but I can't rotate anything actually...I wonder if I'm in the wrong mode ....?

P.s.--If I use the rotate 'icon' (r), then yes it rotates, but it just makes weird sheering actions of the faces , instead of rotating the entire thing on 'x' axis, as if to look like a plane's wing, literally..doesn't have to be 'curved' per se, just not straight out as it is now...I wish I could remember how I did this..:))

davdud101:
OH I believe that is either a rotation with the right mouse button held down (in side view, maybe? sorry, I'm rusty from my LONG hiatus) or you could set the axis with the XYZ buttons near the top of the right sidebar and it should allow you to disable the axii you don't want to move on.
Hopefully this info is correct, but someone more *current* than me needs to validate it.
