Weired error end now

Last night I was working with anim8or and the strangest thing happened. I was working on a model and decided to go outside so I minimized anim8or with my project still there. When I came back about 3 hours later I saved my progress exited out and since I have anim8or .97 beta on my travel drive I removed the travel drive from the computer. Then when I went to shut down the computer said error program Anim8or is still in use end the program now to continue shut down. Well I clicked end now but what got me was that it was on my travel drive and I had already removed it. Also this is the first time that this has happened to me.

Did you remove the travel driver properly?

yes I did. I did everything properly.
