Title: Can we put 3d above a movie or a picture.
Post by: feejo on August 26, 2008, 09:11:35 am
Is it possible to have a picture and to put dots on it and texture and it will create a 3D image? Can we do that with a little movie? All on Amin8or?

Thanks

Ok sorry. If I have a .jpg of a table.. Can I put it into anim8or and draw a skeleton and transform it into 3D. For a movie, I mean I can slice it into all kind of jpg after all.

uhm... i think you mean drawing from a reference image, go to

Build --> Reference Image

Load your image, and you can draw with lines around the important points, but if you want to make the whole 3d model, you should take pictures from the top, front, and side views of the table.

I hope that helps.

Does using the Reference Image allow 2D animation in Anim8or? Can you rig a 2D image?

You cannot edit an image that is composed in another program... You must create the 2d objects in the 3d environment...
I'm still not getting you.

So, if you draw over a 2D image in Anim8or (using Reference Image), can you keep it 2D and then rig it? Or do you have to go 3D?

you can create a cube convert it to mesh delete four points on the cube to make a flat plane. create a new material and load your 2d image into the material and uv map it onto the plane. (go to edit mode select the face of the plane and go to edit and go down and select subdivide faces three or four times.) Put the plane in figure mode and rig the plane and take it into scene mode and animate.

Technically you could go 2d, but it would still be in the 3d space.

I think feejo and Bmer are asking 2 different questions, confusing things.  It sounds like feejo is refering to using a reference image, although I don't understand what he means by  "I mean I can slice it into all kind of jpg after all".

...Bmer on the other hand sounds like he wants to morph a 2D image to create an animation. ...similar to photo morphing tools where you place reference points on 2 images, to morph a picture of your dog into your cat. ...or move the reference points on a single image to create a goofy, distorted picture of someone.
