Title: Sometimes you just have to render to see - Help for the noobs
Post by: onespirit5777 on February 28, 2009, 05:36:29 pm
Sometimes you just have to render to see if it looks good. I'm not to happy with these, but I have a better idea of what to do next time. Did I waste 5 hours for the glass render? No! Because I learned something.

Metal Snowflakes! Ouch! Don't be outside for this one! LOL!

I didn't set the metalic right. Looks more like shinney plastic.

Did you use the lathe tool to make the first snowflake and forget to flip normals. If so then I know how you feel.

Yes I used a lathe tool but had no problems with faces. The problem is that I have the images over lapping and the IOR causes it to black. No fault of the program just the artist. LOL! Mirror group Copy paste rotate Z

This is more of a post for new-bee's - Sometimes you just have to go through the motions to see what you have and learn from it. I knew it was going to do that, but I wanted to see what the rest would look like.

Now here is something I took my time with and this was a 5 min render. No glass renders because of shadows. If this program had caustics and fluid - WOW!

Steve, I want to render this 8,000 by 8,000 - Help! I want to print this on canvas.

Nice images! i like the first one the most.

Its very annoying when you are rendering something and then after hours of waiting, it crashes :(
