When you view a camera from an alternative perspective in a scene, you can see lines come out of the front that show the limits of what the camera can see and a box with a corner on each line that shows what the screen sees. I was wondering if anyone knows how to move the camera and that box separately, or if it is possible in anim8or or any other program or programming language and how to do it.

General Anim8or Forum / Cre8or
« on: June 13, 2010, 02:54:42 am »
I recently tried experimenting with Cre8or, the game creating program made to work with Anim8or, and found that the beta version 0.12 doesn't work at all and it hasn't been updated in forever. It's kind of a let down that such a great sister program was simply dropped before it even got to version 1.0. Does anyone plan to do anything about this anytime soon, or is it a lost cause?

Please let me know that there are others that want to see the next version of Cre8or.

I've begun working on the Sutherland Frame: http://www.anim8or.com/smf/index.php?topic=2803.0
As requested there, please post any tips on how to easily animate the wires for slash harkens.

Here's an updated pic.
Please leave any tips on how to easily model the wires for the slash harkens for a video game.

I've begun to model another knightmare; this time it's based on the Sutherland frame. My previous model was based on the Lancelot and can be viewed here http://www.anim8or.com/smf/index.php?topic=2359.0; it is still, unfortunately, a work in progress.

New update: arms are now almost complete. I had too much trouble with the feet, so please leave advice or comments on mechanical joints.

A fill holes and a flip norms hotkey would also be convenient.

Anim8or v0.98 Discussion Forum / rotating bones
« on: August 14, 2009, 09:25:21 pm »
I personally find that the best thing about Anim8or is it's precision and the ability to use numbers to precisely position each point within a model. I thus find it frustrating that bones within figures cannot be precisely edited with exact measurements. Everything that I have tried has failed including setting the limits and normal positions to measures other than zero; this results in object being misplaced in reference to the figure. Please include a bone editor similar to the "custom rotation" window for objects in the new version of Anim8or.

New update, I'm about halfway done with the legs. Sorry it took a while; computer problems.

moving on to legs and waist
Doing an awesome job so far! Suzaku would be proud!;)

I have a question though, are you going to just use different materials for the different colors and whatnot, or are you going to make textures for it? I feel the latter would really make this model stand out...

For now, I just plan to finish the basic frame and weapons. I'll move onto other knightmares and texture them when I've completed enough of them and the environments for a small video game. But don't get your hopes up, this is just the first knightmare frame.

Here are some new images of this work in progress. I've worked on the cockpit a little, but the shoulder joints seem a bit off.

It looks like a very good start. The edges of your render, however, are jagged. You can stop this by turning on the antialiasing feature for rendering. Nice job though and keep posting!
Thanks for the tip. Does this look any better, and can u give any tips on smoothing the edges on the model without adding too many points.

I am currently working on creating a model of this mecha based on the Lancelot from the anime series Code Geass. The following two images show my current progress using the other two images. Please leave any tips or constructive criticism that may help me complete this project quickly and accurately.

Anim8or v0.98 Discussion Forum / Skinning tool request
« on: April 19, 2009, 06:23:29 pm »
For a little over a year, I've used anim8or for a video game project. While skinning my figures, I couldn't use either tool because of the proximity of the points to each other. Please include a tool to bind individual points to a bone like the brush but for more precision. Being able to edit individual points is the best part about anim8or, and being able to do the same to skin a figure would greatly help.
