General Anim8or Forum / Re: Texture registration problem
« on: August 31, 2025, 08:07:05 pm »
I'm trying to use textures to apply logos and text to the side of a model. I made sure that the background of the texture is the same RGB color as the material. Unfortunately the texture is clearly delineated on the model. Suggestions for what I'm doing wrong?

Recently had your issue. Found that playing with the ambient got me closer to a match. Not perfect, but closer.

Slight traffic accident with my rickshaw required a trip to the shop:

Only three frames in the gif file, so my fire's not working, but such is life.

Anim8or v1.0 Discussion Forum / Problem making movies
« on: August 22, 2025, 07:15:17 am »
My version of Anim8or seems to act weird when I try to generate a second video without closing and reopening the program. I'm thinking something is being "left open" when the program finishes making the movie? I'm talking, here, about generating the sequence of individual images. Also seem to recall that, say, popping back to figure or sequence modes before the second video may help. Not sure of that, however.

Also, in passing, where'd everybody go?

No expert here, but I've also noticed this from time to time. I've been playing with decal and alpha channel stuff recently. You might want to see if this might solve the problem? Again, hope someone with more knowledge will respond. Forum, at the moment, seems eerily quiet. Not sure why, or where everybody went. Did Steve take all the OGs to Italy for the summer?

Friend commented that my "eyeballs" could also serve as headlights.

I can't seem to quite get the hang of lights in Anim8or.

Forum really quiet, it appears. Sad. Worked this up:

Simple 3d animation is fun. :)

Forum seems rather quiet, currently. Thought I'd comment, since I rather enjoyed your video. It's hard to match the movement to the terrain, and not get the sliding effect. If you figure it out, let me know.  ;-)

Finished Works and Works in Progress / Made an AGS game
« on: November 18, 2024, 09:44:40 am »
Used Anim8or to make my entry in the current Nov 2024 MAGS competition. Here's the link:

https://www.mediafire.com/file/v29hekj8q9e642p/GillPartyBus.zip/file

The game is far more cartoon than an actual game, so not to worry about stalling out on a puzzle. Probably takes, maybe, 10-15 minutes to view. Does require a few clicks along the way.

Developed an odd head title along the way. Doesn't seem to mess anything up. Lot more complicated than it seems, but Anim8or got 'er done.
Thanks, Steve!

Been goofing around with this on the AGS Forum. Thought I'd share:

Worked this up today. Has its flaws, but thought I'd share.

Need a bit more development to actually toss the ball. Maybe later?

Finished Works and Works in Progress / Hidden Room
« on: May 11, 2020, 09:01:22 pm »
Current AGS Background Blitz is "Hidden Room." Initial try wound up being the shower curtain. Wasn't happy with it, but salvaged it after finding a funny toilet photo during a Google Search.

The stuff on the shower curtain is from a Bryce render, but the final image is an Anim8or  Scanline render.

Edit: Found another shower curtain texture to add, but I don't "own" it, just passing along because I liked the effect:

Amazon list the curtain, for those that might be interested.

Thanks, Steve. I keep playing with the lights in Bryce. This version is a bit more dynamic:

Not sure if I'm going to do much more with it. Seem to have reached the point of diminishing returns.

Another attempt at the current AGS Background Blitz (topic Glowing):

Bryce render, and most of the foliage came from Bryce.

Finished Works and Works in Progress / Weight scale
« on: February 01, 2020, 07:52:29 pm »
Had a free Saturday, and the latest Background Blitz on the AGS Forum involves scale. Found an interesting vehicle weight scale at a Kansas landfill. Also decided to work up a pedal airplane, as another take on scale.

Model with Anim8or. Rendered in Bryce. I was able to figure out the green coloring around the middle pillar in the ditch. It's the texture I used. Tried a different Bryce texture and it cleared it up.
