General Anim8or Forum / Movement Glitch
« on: October 27, 2009, 10:53:46 am »
Hi everybody!

I've been trying to create basic stick figures using geometric shapes in Object editor, make sequence movements in Figure editor and moving them around in Scene editor, but after I create between 5-6 objects, both the Object and Figure editors glitch.  I lose the ability to move in an upward or downward direction (including view, objects, etc.) and small adjustments I attempt to make on the objects and figures will launch into extreme/unwanted changes at the slightest mouse movement.

Why does this happen and how do I remedy it?

Thanks!

General Anim8or Forum / Additional Root Bones?
« on: August 12, 2009, 03:34:33 pm »
RudySchneider thank you very much for all your help, it has been a tremendous aid!  I was able to animate a proper flexing of the project I've been working on and, so far, looks great!

My new question is, is it possible to insert a second or third root bone into the Figure Mode?  I intend to animate two connectors mating and I can animate my first project using the root and bones for one connector, but now I require to animate the second connector in an identical manner (or mirror image).

Also, can I animate the two connector pieces in a linear direction (towards each other) in the same steps taken to animate the red bird to move across the screen in a straight line?

Thanks!

General Anim8or Forum / Linear Animation
« on: August 11, 2009, 12:08:27 pm »
Hi everybody!  I'd like to say thanks to rellik420 and RudySchneider for their help with my last post, I really appreciated it and it worked great!  I was able to import an Alibre file format into Anim8or as a .obj file!

OK, now I have a new question: I am aware of the Anim8or tutorial on animating the little, red bird to create a walking sequence, but is there a method/tutorial that can help me animate my object in linear and rotary patterns without having to use a skeleton?  I'm basically trying to demonstrate how two identical connector pieces come together and mate.  To do that I have to add on some plastic "flexing" properties to the snap-fit latches and animate them connecting together.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi, I work with Alibre 3D-CAD Design program, and I'd like to animate my project beyond what Alibre can provide.  Is it possible to import a rendered piece into Anim8or?  Or will I have to recreate the entire project from scratch?
