Finished Works and Works in Progress / Made an AGS game
« on: November 18, 2024, 09:44:40 am »
Used Anim8or to make my entry in the current Nov 2024 MAGS competition. Here's the link:

https://www.mediafire.com/file/v29hekj8q9e642p/GillPartyBus.zip/file

The game is far more cartoon than an actual game, so not to worry about stalling out on a puzzle. Probably takes, maybe, 10-15 minutes to view. Does require a few clicks along the way.

Developed an odd head title along the way. Doesn't seem to mess anything up. Lot more complicated than it seems, but Anim8or got 'er done.
Thanks, Steve!

Been goofing around with this on the AGS Forum. Thought I'd share:

Also, this:

Worked this up today. Has its flaws, but thought I'd share.

Need a bit more development to actually toss the ball. Maybe later?

Finished Works and Works in Progress / Hidden Room
« on: May 11, 2020, 09:01:22 pm »
Current AGS Background Blitz is "Hidden Room." Initial try wound up being the shower curtain. Wasn't happy with it, but salvaged it after finding a funny toilet photo during a Google Search.

The stuff on the shower curtain is from a Bryce render, but the final image is an Anim8or  Scanline render.

Edit: Found another shower curtain texture to add, but I don't "own" it, just passing along because I liked the effect:

Amazon list the curtain, for those that might be interested.

Another attempt at the current AGS Background Blitz (topic Glowing):

Bryce render, and most of the foliage came from Bryce.

Finished Works and Works in Progress / Weight scale
« on: February 01, 2020, 07:52:29 pm »
Had a free Saturday, and the latest Background Blitz on the AGS Forum involves scale. Found an interesting vehicle weight scale at a Kansas landfill. Also decided to work up a pedal airplane, as another take on scale.

Model with Anim8or. Rendered in Bryce. I was able to figure out the green coloring around the middle pillar in the ditch. It's the texture I used. Tried a different Bryce texture and it cleared it up.

Finished Works and Works in Progress / Stave church
« on: January 11, 2020, 05:51:25 pm »
Current AGS Forum Background Blitz challenge involves a church or a temple. Googled images and came across Stave Churches. Opted to try for one. Here's what I've have, so far. First image in Scanline, second in ART. I've got a lot yet to learn about render options.

And I should add that the trees/foliage found there way out of Bryce. Tried to render in Bryce, but kept messing things up.

Tried this recently. IK really helped on the bike and unicycle. Thank you so much, Steve!

Finished Works and Works in Progress / Anim8or in AGS game
« on: January 25, 2016, 08:23:39 pm »
I used Anim8or for a very short AGS Game (point and click adventure game).

Link (not sure this will work, noob at MediaFire):

https://www.mediafire.com/?h02xsl2wyp3nejr

The game name is Luther in the Hood, but the executable file is afroTest4 (my fault).

Made the models and rendered the 2D animations with Anim8or. Imported the stills and animations into AGS. Game is nothing to write home about, but looks like Anim8or is an good fit for AGS. Used build 1201 for this, and enjoying the hell out of the "trackballs!"

Finished Works and Works in Progress / If Myst had just been released...

I need to figure out the transitional element here, but this is what I have at the moment:

Bryce render for the fly-around of a gas-station modeled in Anim8or. The render above is from Anim8or. Getting the gif animation onto the surface was labor intensive. Wish there were an easier way, but don't think there is.

Started tinkering around with this:

Not sure where it goes from here.

Working on this.

Hard to get the motions to look realistic. Then again, with a cow on drums, and a mouse on the synthesizer, what would realistic look like?

FYI, I'm using three lights in this: two spot lights, and one area light. Fog cranked up to max. I probably should have tried for a fire, but I am a chicken.  ;-)

General Anim8or Forum / Blenderize me, but why?
« on: July 05, 2014, 02:29:40 pm »
I keep getting shoves, from people I respect, toward Blender. Admittedly, I'm still new to Anim8or, having given up sPatch not all that long ago and with more than a little hesitation, but they seem to feel Anim8or will fall short, somewhere, somehow. I'm not seeing where, or how? Anyone clue me in? I know the renderer is limited, but Steve is actively working on the program (yeah, I know, he's in Italy at the moment), and there are other renderers that I can use. Bones are bones (or armatures), and IK would be lovely, but what makes Blender superior? Every single time I've tried to do a tutorial or a project in Blender, I've made absolutely no progress. And that includes a very simple snowman, which I couldn't do in Blender, 'cause it made no sense, but pulled out of Anim8or in no time, without any problem. I do note that a lot of the senior Forum members seem to use multiple tools, probably for a reason. Model me confused.
