General Anim8or Forum / bug report - alpha channel in OpenGL renders come out all white(with exception)
« on: January 08, 2024, 08:52:50 am »
Ok so this is a bit of a strange one
When rendering with the OpenGL renderer no objects seem to affect the alpha channel of the render and the Alpha channel is all white. This causes pngs saved with transparent background to come out as all black.
one exception is if the object has missing textures (in any field but ambient) then the alpha channel works as expected.
How to recreate:
* Make any object with default or custom material
* render set to OpenGL
* render Alpha Channel (or render image and save as png with transparency)
strange temp workaround:
*repeat steps above, but write any texture name that doesn't exist in the project into any of the fields of the material used
