General Anim8or Forum / how do i download the program?

I know it tells me how to download it but when i unzip it then open it my screen starts to have issues like for example. If i were to have windows media player or anything open then i switch to the anim8tor program it would still show windows media player and the other programs. I'm using windows xp. can anyone help me?
