Very nice group of models. I would add a level of subdivision to the wheel objects to make them a bit more round though. Leroy.

captaindrewi - check my post.
Advanced Modeling Tool-Set:"http://www.anim8or.com/smf/index.php?topic=4616.0"

you will find a tool named "AlterFace" to use it select a face and run it.
it work for face. vertex, edge are little more difficult because not every Mesh have regular, patterned formation. but if you need it badly give me a "PM",  i will try my best then.
thank you to ask for the tool.

Very cool and so many. Thanks very much.

Don't know much about the site, but sounds promising though. Site web link and information. Leroy.

Wow! This is a very cool tool for creating an array of objects around a drawn path. Thanks very much for the assist. I should be able to create the other tank track parts in the same way. FYI: I posted this on the United 3D Artists forum as Truespace does not really support this type of creation process. Leroy.

I also found another solution for Caligari Truespace 6.6 modelside which is a part of version 7.6 and 7.61 beta 8. It's actually a free TSX based plugin that supports an automated build routine and blueprint based CSV scripts that the plugin reads when it does tasks like build and animate vehicle models. It also has scripts to build other complex belt and gear assemblies. The plugin comes as an EXE which installs the plugin and includes quite a few premade scripts for models and animation. Leroy. VcTek plugin for Caligari Truespace 4, 5, 6, and Gamespace 1.6

Thank you, sounds like the scripts are just what I was looking for.

General Anim8or Forum / How can we animate an array of objects along a path?
« on: September 01, 2013, 05:12:36 am »
I tried an old link in a post but it apparently no longer exists even on the Wayback Machine. I want to build a group of track blocks seen on a typical tank or tractor type vehicle, but I could use some pointers on how to get the track block assembly along an ovular path. I can create the track block parts easy enough, but getting them to move along the path or spline is unfamiliar to me. Once I make the tracks how do I assign them to move along a natural path. Greeting to all BTW. Leroy.

Here's a screeny of a B25 included with Caligari's Truespace base model group. The original model is in the COB format. I guess the model was made by a Caligari staffer. If you can use it for something let me know and I'll attach a copy of the model in some other format that anim8or can load. Leroy.

I also got the
"not a valid win32 application"
on windows xp (service pack 3)

I'm guessing that Steve is orienting the software towards 64bit applications. I don't think that trying to make it compatible with older OS's like XP is really worth the effort as most people are now using W7 and up. Nice work though I look forward to further development. I hope that Steve includes animation support for a popular export/import format like 3DS. Would really love to see adding ANS script creation support for writing import scripts too. Thanks, Leroy.

I post stuff on Twitter under TSModman. I guess it might work to help promote Anim8or and allow people to follow the software especially now that a new beta is available. My modeling forum has a feature to share the posts made on the forum on like Twitter, Facebook, etc. When ever I make a new Anim8or post I always share it on Twitter. My forum also has a Chat feature but I would need to activate it for forum members to actually use. Let me know if I can be of some help in the endevour. Leroy.

I saw news story last week about some people actually using 3D printers to make a working hand gun and various other gun components. Is this what 3D printers can typically do? Quite impressive and now I have a better understanding where before I guess I didn't really have a clue what a 3D printer was actually capable of. Greetings, to all and I've been preocupied with other things lately. It's wonderful that members are still active with Anim8or. Leroy.  ;D
