It is easy just to draw splines around the gun, and extrude, then extrude, and scale down to make a curve, then subdivide. Then extrude, and flatten Z to make any flat parts. Texture with a real gun.

You need to click on the lights as well to tell them to cast shadows.

Well the models would look better without the white edges. You need to grab them with a smaller mask.

Bit shiny isn't it? I would like to see it duller.

The sound effects are very bad, but the modelling, and animation, and the design are great. I'm a bit surprised that you stuck with the same shape, when you could have used many different shapes to do the same thing. Something like that would make a good intro for the Space game that I am making.

i know its only been a day since i posted. and i should probably start this in a wip section. but even if u cant use this model im still gonna finish it. atleast the head anyway. heres where im at now. if i dont hear a response ill start a wip topic.

Looks good. Funny how you work with separate sections, I would have started with a sphere, and a bunch of blocky objects to deform.

Plenty of ways you can use Anim8or to add shadows to photographs, but most of the work should be done by Photoshop, and basically any material will be fine. What you need to do actually is mask, and cut the unwanted areas of the texture, so transparency makes absolutely no difference at all. Photoshop has it's own opaque settings to do that.

another way to make a headband (if you already have a head) is to
copy your model
hide your original model
paste your model
delete all the edgepoints except where you are going to put your headband (on your copied model)
make your headband (it could be as simple as extruding the faces)
once your headband is done unhide your model
then join solids
then merge the points
done (perfect fit)

ive dont that "method" a few times when making accessories and hair and stuff. it works pretty well.

Yeah, and you could also use the cut tool on the head if you don't have faces in the right places.

I use Dark Basic which is cheap anyway, but this does look good.

A headband is a cylinder with a hole cut out of the middle, the splines added around the inside hole, and then the hole filled again, but with the splines added you end up with a head band.

General Anim8or Forum / Can I convert a mesh into a path?
« on: August 10, 2009, 09:22:47 am »
I made an outline with a mesh, and now I want to extrude it, but mesh's do not extrude. So can I turn a mesh into a path?

I also cannot fill the outline for some reason.

General Anim8or Forum / Re: How to unhide just 1 object
« on: August 07, 2009, 09:24:55 am »

That does not need to use the list. The hidden item is not removed from the current selection, so you can cut as you say and paste, and when pasted is visible, as you say. But, there is no unhide command?

The list is to find the object if it is not selected, and cut/paste unhides it. I realise that this is not a true unhide, but it is a work around.

Anim8or does need a show command in the long run.

Sorry, I just realised that there is no show command, but I have figured out a way. Use the list to pick your hidden object, then Cut, and then paste it again.
