Thanks!

Dark Basic will make the game that you want. However it isn't a simple click, and build engine, it is a programming language, but very easy to learn.

Libraries often restrict the computers for kids, I used to manually un-restrict them when I didn't have the internet. It's in the browser settings. Best to restrict it again before you leave.

When I extrude/fill the text it is very triangulated, and then smoothing creates jagged edges. Is there an easy way to fill an object so that it is made up from horizontal splines. Then the subdivide is smooth. i normally add my own splines by hand, but it takes a long time. ZBrush can load an Anim8 Obj and automatically convert it to better standard splines, which are often squares. I just wonder if Anim8or is creating none standard triangles?

There was a thread here somewhere about text to 3D, but I can't find it.

Is there an easy way to turn text into a 3D model? So that the reference typed text can be extruded automatically. I think I used to use Cinema 4D to create instant text, but I have lost my serial number for it. (It was free on a magazine, and the serial number was in the magazine somewhere)

Thanks!

I haven't seen it before, but it looks good, and I think I will get it.

That's a good tutorial. I've been using Anim8or for years, but have never done any of those things before.

Nice renders! I really want to try more rendering. I tend to mostly make models for games instead.

Dark Basic is the easiest way to make games. You will need to export the Anim8or images as 3DS, or convert the Obj to 3DS. I make games using Anim8or, have done for years, but the animation frames have to be saved as separate models.

This might be well known, but I didn't find out until today.....

When creating a point to point outline around a reference image the first point can be
placed by using the left mouse button AND SHIFT key together:

Before I knew this I would have extruded a path to get a mesh instead.

It looks like you have set a bigger height for you render then your screenresolution. If you set the height of your render on a larger number then the height of your screen resolution, the render will go on outside your screen. This way the render looks finished, since it reached the top of your screen, but it still needs some pixels to render. Click and drag on the image to see the top of your render.

It was running all night, should have finished in about 3 hours, but had 8 hours. Res = 1024 * 768. My own screen is 1152*864.

Rendering never ends. Using ART, waited several hours, picture reached the top of the screen, but black bar just stopped in the same place. Did this twice. I pressed PrtScn to show you..
