Never had that happen. However, you may be looking at the wrong Object. There is an Object list, and it could be that you have your finished model further down the list.

A plane is easy to make in about 6 different ways, but the best tip is to locate the body at the centre, then cut it in half, and just make half of a plane. Then mirror it, join solids, and merge selected points.

You will need something like flat spheres for the lights. Maybe transparent, white with lights inside. The smoke effect can be done with cylinders expanded on 1 end, with a smoke texture, and transparent 0.1.

It would be nice to have a revamp, but the program is still great.

It doesn't work on my graphic card, so that spoiled it.

General Anim8or Forum / Dark Basic pro Free
« on: November 07, 2009, 12:58:53 pm »
Having seen the UDK Free post I just found out that Dark Basic Pro is also now Free. But does contain Ads. Still, it's a lot easier to use than UDK, and will allow you to make any game that you like. Anyway you could try both.

You have to add a UV map to your model. You need an external program like Lithunwrap to do that. well actually Blender does it, but I know that Lithunwrap is easy to use, and I think that Blender is a bit more complicated.

But you can't start texturing in Anim8or without a UV map.

Ah is that what you do to move Z. I always use the top view.

You can't save 3DS animations, and I doubt you will get the model to work in you game unless somebody has made a new plugin to do it.

I know how to do it from scratch, but I don't know if I can explain it properly. I'll try...

First make your hole. Cylinder, expand, bodge out holes, fill edges.

Now you need to just make 1 section, and then link them together.

So you have a hole, now you need to turn it into a sort of watch.

Expand the strap in bendable sections, which will be the body of the tanker.

Now make a bend modifier.

Bend it all 360%

Select top faces, and flatten in the Y.

Link sections, make ends.

Or, if you really want to fix your model. Just make a cutting tool template. Just put the end of a cylinder beneath where you want the hole, and the cutting tool will lock to it.

You probably used too many polygons. Computers slow down with all of that information to deal with.
