Keep well steve, and add some ginger to your garlic and olives.  ;)

"...wait, was that a sidelong reference to Deeper?"

 Ahhhhhh, ..'twas indeed.  ;)

A good lesson, i should probably learn from,  relating to my workflow in Deeper
I'm rewriting a Large chunk of the beginning, a lot've work down the gurgler, and a bit of editing to be done.
A proper plan, from  start to finish, would've saved me a lot of work.
But, rightly or wrongly, that's not the way this puppy rolls.
The majority of the scenes so far are still usable and it'll have a better storyline than the original.
Don't know if i could've 'planned' the movie as it is now. It's more of a 'growing, evolving' thing.

but of course i do realise that life sometimes gets in the way of art!

 True that

I'm pretty blown away with your work with audio in Anim8or.

The amount of work you're putting into all these 'new math, conversions and filtering' etc type stuff is whats also truly amazing here, so have that cuppa tea and a break when you need it, coz it all looks pretty mountainous.

Here at the user end, it's all pretty exciting.
 Behaving well and looking good.
Nice one steve

looks like i might be at an advantage then, coz i've only got one 'main' ongoing project, on the backburner for now, so am about ready to see if, maybe, froyd might have any 'hidden talents'...

I think one of the hardest part is deciding 'the act'.
One person?, 2 people?, or maybe an animal...... or 2.
 Monster?, Alien
  and what's the 'talent'?
Pull a rabbit out of a hat, juggling, singing...... comedy"
Knife throwing, balance act, contortionism ..????....hmmmmmmmmm.... yeah, deciding can be hard.
Sometimes, perhaps there's something you're already working on, or have worked on, that could be 're-ignited' or given a new life.....

These days, even when there is a 'stage', the 'video, lighting, and digital effects can be so captivating, that you forget there is even a stage there...

If we are wanting to post our 'act' as a work in progress, would we do that here,? (or in the wip forum.)
Was wondering in case any of us would like help and/or ideas from other Anim8ors, to help sort've, polish our act, or whatever.

 SINGING
will need to find some 'free to use' opera or barbershop .wav files somewhere.... coz i sure can't sing.  :)

Maybe the flicking on off not such a good plan.
I mentioned that because of a hologram i made quite a while ago.
Thinking about it more now, the flick i had happened when the character walked 'through' the hologram, creating a slight, 'temporary' disruption to the hologram.
If all is running well, and with no interference, the 'flickering' is probably not a good sign.  ;)

not a 2 of diamonds
.
Possibly should have researched the setup of the trick a bit better. 3 of spades actually shows a lot as the most often picked card, tho i don't think i'd guess 3 of spades.
Chances are probably 1 in 52 of getting it right, but if i studied the likes of 'Derren Brown' more closely, i'm sure there's some wee 'nudges' to sway people towards picking a paticular card.
The obvious ones here were the title, 6 and 1, (7), the red in the title, and the red question mark, which sort've resembled a '7'
I toyed with more dialogue, like 'more than one, less than eleven'. (Rhyming with seven), and other speech rhyming with 'hearts' and so on,  but then i just sort've 'ran out of steam'.
It started off just mucking around with a deck of cards doing the 'riffle shuffle', and then it just sort've grew a bit.

 Thanks again, for your comments.

hi steve  :)

1387 scene mode

1) crashing/freezing when trying to render .avi. Seems to be with complex figures. ('complex' meaning a character figure. Very basic figures do render into avi ok.)
same files will render in 1385 no probs

2)folders not showing correctly in timetrack with 'complex' figures.
(folders greyed out, empty and unselectable. The folder contents are listed below the folder name, and can be slected.)
Folders working and showing correctly in 1835

EDIT: Have attached example/test .an8 zip

Scene 2 is a simple figure and renders ok.
Scene 1 'complex'  is character figure, which freezes when trying to render. You'll also see in the timetrack, under figure01, shows 'Rhand', which is actually the folder name and should contain the bones of the right hand.

I like what you've got so far.
An occasional 'flicker' might help. Just make the hologram invisible for 1 frame, every now and then.
and with your chromokeying skills, maybe more 'see through' and with a sort of dusty/static type appearance.
I wonder if you could use something like kevins 'cone' arrangement, to show the hologram is 'projecting' from wrist. but make the cone barely visible. The width of the hologram robot would probably need to be a little less wide, and maybe the 'dust' effect could be added into the cone, rather than the robot image.

Still sounds good ,I hope i have improved the stage with a texture. I think we probably need to agree a size perhaps then the curtain can be made to fit. Also maybe a Robin logo at the centre of the top curtain.

 I like 640x360 as a size.
The curtains are looking good. I think the top curtain might need to lift away as each show begins, so the 'act' has use of the full screen.
Maybe you could put one big robin logo on the main curtains, which lines up at the join when curtains are closed, and breaks in half as curtains open?
Maybe a circle background on robin logo, make it look more like a 'logo'.  ;)

bayinghound A huge job, sorry i wouldn't have the time to be much help.
I do hope we get a few entries into a talent show tho. Making a 10 - 20 second(?) short clip can be hours of work in itself....

Hello bobg.

 Some memories there.

See the 10 second club is now the 11 second club. I remember your video, and it was from that video i learned that the 10 second club existed.

I remember Hans and Chewy, and i remember the Alice walk test.
These were done when i became a newbie, and were an inspiration to all us newbies at the time, i'm sure.

Strangely tho, i don't remember tinkerbell, and she's awesome!.

You'd be aware of the upgrades to Anim8or since then. (some of them anyway, coz there has been a LOT)

Maybe you'll find time to 're-explore'

A very pleasant surprise to see your name, and some of your work, again.

 Nice one bobg
