Yeah. I also agree. This would be a nice feature to have in the next version. Right now I'm working on a 1400 frame scene, and it's a bit annyoing having to use the "click on last frame showing and press the right arrow key.

I was going to help out, but I'm the type of guy who you can't trust with a deadline. Sorry guys. Also I'm planning a big project to work on over the summer, with that and camp, I won't be able to work on any anim8or movie. Sorry.

I just burned a bunch of movies and pictures onto a DVD today, using windows DVD maker. I was AMAZED!!!!!! The quality was awesome, and the uncompressed videos played like they were compressed with no lost quality. Even the low quality videos looked high quality. :)
Just one thing. So I have to get sounds into my video before I burn it to a DVD, and if I use Windows Movie Maker, the movie will lose quality.
If I do it with VirtualDub, will it not lose quality, and add sounds?
Thanks.

It's not grayed out for me either. I tried it but it looked weird after I did it on a figure. I'm gonna' wait until it's fully working before messing around with it.

Whoah. That's a lot to absorb. If I just burn uncompressed video onto a DVD with something like Windows DVD maker, will that automatically make it so it can run on a DVD player.
I'm going to try to get a couple blank DVD's and test them out a little. Luckily I have a DVD burner on my computer. :)
Thanks for the explanation.

Is it possible to insert time between two keys in scene mode.
Basically what happened is I had a scene where you see a guy walk in and sit down. Now I want to show the room around a bit before he walks in. To do that I would have to add extra time at the beginning of the scene. To add time would be a tedious job of making the scene time longer, copying and pasting all the keys, and making sure they were pasted correctly and evenly.
Does anyone know of any way that I could do that.
If this isn't a feature yet, I would recommend it would be a little handy tool.

Wow that's really surprising. So high quality isn't really that "high quality" that I thought it would be.
Thanks ENSONIQ5

I'm wondering though how is it that 720 x 576 is the rate if that sounds like low quality.
I always thought high quality would be like 1024 x 768. or something like that. Higher than 720x576.
Now what if I would want to not burn it to a DVD, but keep it on my computer. I've tried watching uncompressed renders, and they are always slow and about 100-500 megabytes depending on the video length.
How could I get them to play normally, but not lose quality.

1. I'm working on a big project now, and I need to know: If I want a DVD  qualty movie what are the specifications in which I have to render it in.
I searched online, and found that DVD quality is less that 1000 pixels wide. How is that possible? ???
2. And of course what codec should I use for rendering?
3. Does the codec you use speed up or slow down your render time?
Thanks

General Anim8or Forum / What's the Point of this Rule? ???
« on: May 15, 2008, 11:40:10 pm »
Quote from the Manual

Adding Faces

Once you have added new edges to a mesh, you will be able to fill in the gaps with new faces. You do this by first selecting all of the edges that surround where your new face or faces will go. Then you use the Edit->FillHoles command to fill them.

There are a few things to note before you start adding faces:

    * Faces can only be added to complete connected loops of edges. If there are any gaps, no face will be added.

    * All edges in the loop must not already be part of two (or more) faces. Only edges that are part of at most one face will be considered. You can tell how many edges an edge participates in by its color when selected.

    * You can select a lot of edges and do a fill of the whole batch at once. Anim8or will start by filling any selected edge loops of length 3. Then it will fill those of length 4, etc. until no more faces can be added. This will sometimes create undesirable results and you will have to try again in smaller batches.

    * You may have to apply the Edit->FlipNormals and the Edit->FixNormals commands to orient new faces properly after they are added.

So you may have to delete some faces in your mesh before you can add the new ones you need to add.

This limits your ability to make stuff alot. Why is this rule needed. Is it because of a memory issue with anim8or, or just that's how the system was created? The fact that edges can only be attached to a certain amount of faces limits your control over stuff like complicated buildings, models, charechtars, ect. So what's the point of it.

If I render my scene as a .jpg or .bmp, what program can I use to put the frames into a movie that way I can view each individual frame and watch it as a movie.
Thanks in advance.
