Doesn't loopcut do about the same thing? Only it works with edges rather than points.

If you want to add an anatomy correction, birds keep thier heads in line with the rest of thier body during flight, it helps with aerodynamics.

As a cartoon it is great! It takes me an hour and 16 minutes to make 4 walls with a ceiling and floor.

Hmm... I wonder why 32?

I'll just do 20 sections, select all of the edge loops and then do cut edges, that will give me the 40 I need without the subdivision smoothing out my mesh that needs to have hard corners, it'll just take a bit of rounding the cut edges to make it circular.

Thanks for the quick answer.  :)

For some reason Anim8or will not let me lathe more that 32 sections, I need 40.

I type "40" in the lathe menu under sections, but it only makes 32 sections in the final product.

It is kind strange, I'm petty sure it has worked before.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I'm not much of an expert modeler, but what you could do is reinforce the eyelids some more to help after you subdivide, and then close the hole for the eyes.

To make the eyelids "form" to the eyeballs, select all of the edges that make up the hole for the eye and then fill with a face. Then select the new face where the eyeball is supposed to be and use the triangle extrude(the one that creates a single point in the middle of the face and moves it along the face normal pulling the face out into something like a pyramid) to pull the eyelid inside the head of your charachter. Now when you put the eyeball in there should be no gaps. Don't worry about the overlaping areas.

Yes, there are definitely two different tags, one for promotion, and one for use in the movie.

I don't know, it is quite possible I'm wrong. It may be recessed.

Super easy fix!  ;D

Actually watching the movie there is a scene with a similer tag without the "Walt Disney" and "pictures" text, and the "BOLT" letters are raised.

If I show a wire it would be very hard to see what is going on because the polies are so dense, but I did model the text. Like I said in my earlier post, I attempted to find a brushed metal texture image so I could make the bumpmap for this, but there was nothing even similer to the effect on the second tag.

Ok, I'm a little obsesed, but here is my inspiration for 3D anim8ing.  ::)

Fairly simple mesh, but it's a pain to make the letters. I couldn't find a good "brushed metal" texture, which would have added alot to making it look better.

Any Ideas on how to make it look more like the second image?

Thanks Mills,

I've tried keeping two files, one as the working file and another as the backup, along with another back up on an external drive. The only problem with that is I do alot of work in one sitting. So I lose alot in-between saves if the file breaks.

What was the problem with the files? So I can try to fix it myself next time.

It has been a quite a while.

Is anybody willing to fix either of these files for me please?

I agree heartily, a 3D ruler in Meters would be awesome when making things to scale.

I'm loving the patches of sand coming through, very nice.

Could you tell us the process you used, if you don't mind? It looks pretty good, as far as suggestions I agree that if you randomize the grass a bit it would look better, no grass is layed in perfect little rows like that, so maybe moving the blades around to break up the rows would improve the look.

I tried to make a few renders of the smaller details but Anim8or didn't feel like co-operating, so here are some that I already had.

Oh, and that image that you saw is not the latest and greatest, i'll re-upload a better render while i'm at it.

If anyone has any suggestions for improvement it would be great. I already know about the AA in the pictures, but these were just quick test renders.

1: The final rendering.
2: The laptop seen on the desk (sorry for the low res)
3: Can you find Bolt? [hint: It is next to the TV]
4: A tank model that is in the animation, but not shown in any of these images.

Has anyone taken a look at these files?

If I could get a working file back soon that would be great, thanks.
