General Anim8or Forum / Re: using sequences in scene mode
« on: September 12, 2009, 07:29:21 pm »
Why doesn't my walk cycle with all key frames (showing up in sequence) NOT show up in the scene mode?
I keyed in all of the frames for the "robin" walk cycle but...when I switch to the scene mode the keyed frames are not there?

Perplexed.
Thank you for any help.

If you already assigned the animation sequence to the figure in the scene, the sequence should be there. If not, you may have assigned a sequence to an object instead of a figure in scene mode... I don't know if that helped.....

i looked through the old threads and i didn't see it so i would like to make a suggestion for an8. it would be GREAT if point modeling in scene mode was implemented into an8. even though morph targets are just about the same thing, it would be a lot easier to be able to move, expand (similar to the object mode), and key frame points during the scene (and hopefully textures also, but i can wait for that). i'm not the best in programming (because if i was, i would have done it myself), but if you can do this, it would be lovely.  ;D

There is a way to get after effects for free. But it's kinda illegal so I'll leave that alone. You may have to experiment with corel to get what I don't think you can do much else without paying for a more expensive program.

I kinda understand what "Orange" means, because sometimes the points are so close, even if you zoom in, you may still have to rotate the view and do a whole bunch of other stuff to get to the point (no pun intended). Then after that, you'll end up reskinning half of the model again

Also, if you're in sequence or scene mode, you have to make sure that the bones are ABLE to move. Double click on the bone in sequence mode and check off the axis and put in the parameters or you'll just be stuck with an idle figure... Hopefully that helps  ::)

And something else might help too. It might make the model look a bit goofy. Drag and select all of the points in your model and use the merge points function. Repeat if necessary, and then double click on your model and increase the smoothing angle to 90 or even 180 if you need more "smoothness"

You COULD export the figure (make sure to change the original figure and object name). Then import it back in and just flip the stuff around. But depending on the detail of your model and bone structure, that might prove to be a bit difficult. If it's a simple hand model and bone layout, it could be done a lot quicker. From THERE you can subdivide and blah blah blah.... I don't know how to do it any other way ???

I have the standard graphics card that came with this stupid Dell (Intel 965 Graphics Media Accelerator), but since it's XP compatible (which is the only reason I bought it), I'll just roll back to XP Sp3 for now.

there is this game creation software made JUST for anim8or with a physics engine built in and you can record the movements into the scene of an8. it's a bit confusing but just go to this website cre8or3d.com go through the tutorials and you'll see what i mean

just out of curiosity.... will the pissed off vista users (like me, unfortunately) get a free update or do we have to pay. I personally believe we should be reimbursed for the damages from this horrible concoction they call "VISTA".
