General Anim8or Forum / Mirrored checkbox
« on: November 25, 2013, 05:32:12 am »
When you double click your mesh, the box pops up with the location and smooth angle settings. On the right of the smooth angle, there is a checkbox that says 'mirrored'.

How do you use it?

I hope it functions like I think it does. You select one side of your mesh and it manipulates the other side. If that's not the case, please elaborate.

Thanks.

I haven't messed with anim8or, nor any other 3d software, in a long time. It seems like I came in at a good time too. Anim8or v.98 :). I'm glad to see more progress in anim8or.

Well, I started a character. It's not very good, but it's a (re)start. I really am just getting the basic shapes and loops down, then I can make some details. I'm going for a "cartoony" look. Here's where I'm at now.

Edit: Here's a wire frame too.

Edit 2: Looks like you get to watch Netflix with me ☺.

I'm not sure if this is possible or not, but I think a multi slider tool would be great. I use the slide tool often, but you can only select one point at a time. If you need to slide 50 points, it can get tedious. But if you could select all 50 points at once, then slide them all at the same time, that would be amazing.

General Anim8or Forum / Is there any progress updates?
« on: June 12, 2012, 09:44:55 pm »
I still lurk around here from time to time. I'm just wondering if there is a status availible on anim8or. Anim8or is still my "go to" program for modeling. I'm just curious and I wan't to know what's going on. Thanks.

Hey Cori! Well done here. You have really come a long way. I remember when you 1st started and though you were a bit rough around the edges, you showed some talent. You can really tell that your persistance paid off. I'm glad to see that your still at it and I hope that you continue. Great job with the lighting. I think the video quality is on the low side but from what I can tell you did a good job on the textures. Good job keep it up.

General Anim8or Forum / piles of dirty clothes
« on: February 17, 2012, 07:15:45 pm »
im working on a project and im wonder what the best way to go about this is. im only using anim8or for modeling.

i can think of two options

1) model the entire piles of clothes in anim8or

2) model clothes individually in anim8or and use soft bodies in another program to layer the clothes into a pile.

any thoughts?

looks pretty good. you should probably texture his front plate thing on his stomach. this character looks like it would be really fun to animate. keep it up

as far as the remodelling goes, look more closely at the egdeloops. try to make them go the same way as the daz model has it. it would look like it a lot more. the biggest difference is obviously the nose but it goes a bit deeper than that. the nose sets off the rest of the face. like the creases around the eyes and going around the mouth. you dont have to actually make the nose but still follow the loops coming off the nose. just my 2 cents ☺. good luck with it

sup dav. the model itself looks pretty good. im wondering how your going about making it though. what technique your using. to me it looks like u made a bunch of spheres and manipulated them. what ever u did it worked out pretty good.

when u post a wireframe, you should have the shaded surface and lines visible. you really cant see what your doing in a subdivided wireframe like that.

keep it up though dude and post some more progress.

hey there. it looks pretty good so far. you might want to delve into the edge loops a bit more. you can clean that up quite a bit and redirect in a few places. it really doesnt matter a whole lot though if it is going to just be a static image. just keep workin on it and it will iron itself out most likely. good luck

i just started to get into cre8or. the one major problem i saw was the lack of material on how to use the program. i know it changed in the later version but that was the only one i got to run on my computer and everything was changed. i had no luck at all finding anything useful on how the program actually works. + i was on there for like 1 or 2 days and the forums went down so i didnt have that much time to work on it.

i do hope u get it working again. it does look pretty cool
