try a couple of small projects before you tackel your book. 10 mins is actuly quite a bit of animating. i realize your book would probabley be a series of small scenes, but its still a big project. i dont mean to sound negative. definately do your book. but practice on something small at first.

hay i finaly got a job (not animating, sigh) its in a mill. but to the point; im on break with some guys who are going to school mostly for something in comp prog . i brought up anim8tor,  they were intersted but asked questions i didnt know the answer to. is it cad based? i am faced with an emberasing fact. i am rather confident with my abillitys in anim8or and have been using it for a long time but dont realy know the tech of anim8or. i guess my queston is, whats the long handed technical discription of anim8tor? how can i sound smart infront of these guys.

kinda emberased by what i came up with

i tried to cheat with the pushups by just removing the floor, but it still looks sad. i am rather happy with the bench press though.

you know its funny, this reminds me of a question my wife asked me, she asked " why is it when you model a female you always get the body right but strugle with the head , hands and feet?" i have tried to explain those are more detailed parts but she seems to think it has to do with focus.
