I like the particle effects more than the textured one.  Particle effects with sufficient number of particles and smoke really look cool.

Hi guys,

Here is my playing around with brass settings.

Felt like sharing the result with you people.

Nice try.  I liked it.  I feel, a little more work on texturing of the frog gang will do the trick.  The eyes really need to look better and lively, they are too "flat."  I liked the leaf texturing, (they) needs to be little thinner though.

Hi guys,

Can anybody help me in finding right tutorials for learning unwrapping and texturing models in anim8or.

So far, I have made many models in anim8or, but when it comes to texturing I think I have miles to go.

How to unwrap and texture a character precisely?.  Like i have made a pigeon, but now how to apply different textures to its different parts?

It seems so, but that is perfectly okay.  The beauty of anim8or is its simplicity.

Just to orient you here are some steps that I would follow while making a character for example a bird.

STEP 1:  I will open anim8or in object mode.

I will model a body part for ex:  a foot.  Then, i will go to settings->object and name it "foot".

Then, still in object mode, i will go to object->new and a new screen will appear and thus i will make a new object i.e. a new body part and name it.

Likewise I will go on making all the body parts.

step 2:  Change the mode to figure editor.  Make the skeleton by adding different bones to the root bone already present on the screen.  Name the figure using settings->figure (for example bird)

then select a bone in the skeleton and with that bone still selected go to build->add object  (the list of all body parts should show up), select the body part for that bone, hit ok.  The body part will appear on screen.  Just move and rotate the part to fit it on the bone.

Likewise, I will add all body parts to my skeleton.

Thats perfectly allright.

Just remember, while making objects in object mode, try naming individual objects using settings->object->name your object in the dialog box.  After doing this, your object will be named and listed accordingly.

Also, do not forget to use option Object->New before starting each new object for a project and not file->new.

Thus, you can name different objects differently like legs, body, head, etc.

Good luck.

Hi

Please excuse me if this is a foolish question.

Today I started using version 0.97d.  However, when I clicked on material editor, I could see the "attributes" button, but when I clicked on it the list was blank.  Nothing was there.  Am I making a mistake in something?  Did I forget to follow any step?

Please give suggestions.

This is the result of my playing around with normal map and grayscale on a sphere.

The left one with grayscale bump map.

The right one with a combination of normal map and grayscale.  The depth looks more pronounced due to shades.

Hi,

This is indian8or.  Like you, I am not an expert in handling anim8or, but I would like to make a few friendly suggestion just as a "forum buddy."

You have done a great job there.  I liked it, especially the detailing of wall texture and color.

Only thing that I feel would make it look a bit more real is proper "bump mapping" the base on which the bowl is resting.  That way, you can make the tiles look more realistic.  Also, the tiles of the base in the actual photo are quite spaced apart, so in your model you can actually use some extrusion there.

As far as faucet and base of bowel (the stainless steel part) is concerned, I think a bit higher specular value and adding surrounding reflections will do the trick.

You need a white light straight above the arrangement.

NICE STILL LIFE!!.

Thanks Francesco for the quick reply.

Here are the steps that lead to crash:

1)I made a humanoid model with different objects for different parts like head, hands, trunk, etc.
2)I rigged the model in a figure editor.
3)I tried to enable skinning for a part of the model.
4)Then I changed to Sequence mode to make a sequence.
5)Anim8or displayed a message "illegal operation".

The details of the error are as follows:

ANIM8OR caused an invalid page fault in

Hi,

I am a new member to this forum.  I just made my first walk cycle with a human figure.  However, when i tried to enable skinning and changed to Sequence mode, the anim8or crashed.

Please suggest remedies.

Thanks.
