Finished Works and Works in Progress / Disaster TIME: WIPs
« on: November 22, 2008, 12:56:31 am »
Both animanon and cg-nation are having small 'challenges' at the moment.

Animanon has decided to split the sections into beginners and and intermediate or similar so if you want to join up feel free. You have to illustrate the concept "Time". Easy. Make a clock :)

With CG-nation you need to illustrate the concept Disaster. Most of the participants are using anim8or. See their website for more details on the concept. Easy> Blow something up :) What could be more fun???

This is   what I have so far .....

Something for the self portrait comp at animanon. Some pre-existing meshes to be removed.

All modelling with anim8or. Rendered in carrara. .

There is no narrative as such. Think of it as thinking aloud ;)

Hello,

Falloffalot asked a question on animanon re this. I can't get onto the site but thought it would be helpful here anyways, for those who haven't heard of terranim8or.

Best thing to use is terranim8or with an animated material placed on a background.

http://www.biederman.net/leslie/terranim8or/terranim8or.htm

use version 6.6.1

The source for the anim8ted background needs to be a series of jpegs.

You can also use terranim8or's built in fire plug in, but the animated material works better.

The youtube link is is just a quick render to give you the idea. Of course if you fiddle you'll get a much better result.

cheerios

below is one of the jpeg's making up the animated texture

ASL Scripts / Script request: heal tool.
« on: October 16, 2008, 04:08:08 am »
Hello Genuii (plural of genius :) )

Don''t know if possible, a heal tool is a tool that when run over verticies  will attach a verticie to the same bone as its neighbours.

Great for clearing up messy rigging   weight painting.

any taakers? :)

Hello

Please find a an8 file for a compound microscope.

It has an eyepiece and and objective - both made from a pair of  lenses.

The scene has a morph that slides the objective towards the eyepiece.

All you have to do is change the 'lens" material to reflect your choice of refractive index. Go to scene mode, choose view camera and render it.

Feedback appreciated.

Dowload. here: http://waxfin.googlepages.com/microscope.an8

Here are some tests made in another render with the same mesh.

The magnification changes as the objective lense set moves towards the viewer.

Other refraction tests to wet our appetetite now anim8or has ART.
