The basic way to place copies along an axis is actually to use copy/paste. You copy/paste the original object and then move it with the use of "SNAP to GRID" tool. Set the spacing as needed. Then select the two objects, copy/paste again, calculate the new spacing needed, change it in "Snap to Grid" spacing Grid settings and move. Repeat as many times needed. In some easy situations it is a solution.
Anim8or doesn't have a built in command for automation like this. But there are scripts ! You can use a "path" tool to set a path along which your object will be duplicated. Also there's a script for copying mesh ( source ) along another mesh ( target ), but I think the one with the path is what you need. Here are the links : a) For the path script Animating Tank Treads in Anim8or ( use the first script ) b) For the mesh to mesh ( most likely not for your case ) Script: Copy "Source" mesh to "Target" mesh |

By "Object" you mean "shapes" inside an actual "Object" , I guess. Or I didn't understand it right. ( duh, yes, still

Hi all!
Help me, please. How can I automate the placement of copies of objects along the coordinate axes, specified guides, or along the edge of an object? For example, I'd like to make a fence near a factory and need to place many identical posts along the perimeter of a rectangle. Another example is to place posts along a road. Another example is to place beads along the edge of a dress. |

I am happy with anim8or of how it is but I understand that you may want other rendering options and particles to save time and be more creative. Your animation, scene are beautiful. Have a nice day.

thank you for liking it. I suggest you to play with camera properties dialog. Camera can be set to follow the character by making character parent for location of camera. Orientation of camera can be set to 'face other' and select the character which will force camera to look at that character. you can also look in anim8or manual to get better understanding. Have a nice day.Simple 3d animation is fun. |

After a LONG time in the works, I've finally published my first songs!
Of course I had to make lyric videos to go with them, and to do that I've made a lot of use out of Anim8or! The first song, "Leading Me" begged for a Vaporwave look. I saw an image where someone created a cool effect with a glass ball that turned everything upside down, and thought it was perfect! I made my own scene with my Jesus statue, the Greek pillars I made in other artwork, and made some plants and other greenery. It looks so appropriately 90s to go with the sound of the song! The next video is a bit more on the 2D side. I painted the rose and the background, but the falling petals were made with Anim8or. I made them fall with Physics by turning them into a particle effect in Unity! |
